Chapter 128: Neighbours

"Yichen what's going on?" Mochou exclaimed the moment they reached the edge of the forest.

They had gone into the forest to check the traps and go for their scheduled walk. The babies were snug against Yichen's chest babbling and looking around joyously. When they returned home they could hear a lot of noise coming from the direction of their home.

"I don't know. Stay here while..."

"I'll go. You stay here with the babies." Mochou interjected. Yichen wasn't pleased with the idea but he also knew Mochou wouldn't be able to carry their fat Goji Berries even if he handed them over.

"If things look suspicious come back." Yichen said. He didn't think it would be anything too serious but just in case he wanted Mochou to be careful.

"Don't worry. I'll just take a quick look and be right back." Mochou said before running off with his bow.

"Why do you need your bow if it's just going to be a quick peek?" Yichen wondered but before he could ask Mochou was already too far away.

Mochou kept hidden behind the trees as he peeked at what was going on. To his utter shock and despair it was Jie Hong and his crew. With them were carts full of lumber and tools.

"What the f*** are they doing?" Mochou nearly shouted. He and Yichen hadn't asked for any construction to be done at home meaning whatever they were planning to build was something someone else had asked for. Furious Mochou ran back to Yichen's side.

"Some bastards have decided to build who knows what by our house!" Mochou announced in anger.

"What do you mean?" Yichen asked. Like Mochou he hadn't heard of anyone purchasing the land near their place or making plans to build anything in the area. If he had he would have definitely told Mochou about it.

"Jie Hong and his crew are in the area with tools and building supplies." Mochou explained a little more. Yichen was upset about the unexpected news. He took Mochou's hand and hurried off to get some answers.

"Jie Hong!" Yichen shouted as he approached the man.

"Yichen, it's been awhile. Congratulations on becoming a father." Jie Hong said.

"Thanks. Do you mind telling me what's going on?" Yichen asked while trying to keep calm.

"Your father didn't tell you?"

"Tell me what?"

"Hehe, don't look so panicked. The impression I got was that this was a good thing. I think it would be best if you headed over to talk to your father about it." Jie Hong suggested.

"I will."

Yichen entered the yard in hopes of getting some answers. Right away he saw his mother who smiled and hurried over.

"Let me see my grand babies!" She said arms out and ready to take them from Yichen. Right away both Goji Berries grabbed Yichen's robe and smushed their little faces against his chest. Mochou had been closely watching them and nearly burst out laughing at the sight.

"Are they worried Yichen will leave them behind again?" Mochou wondered. He reached out and rubbed his Goji Berries' backs to comfort them. Yichen also noticed their behaviour. Like Mochou he didn't expect such a strong reaction from them.

"I thought things went well while they were here, but maybe not. Don't worry my sweets daddy will keep you close." Yichen whispered. Like Mochou he moved to comfort them. While Mochou rubbed their back Yichen pat their little bums.

"We don't plan on staying long and the twins are fine where they are." Yichen told his mother. She seemed disappointed but didn't insist on taking them.
