In town, Yichen and the excited Goji Berries visited a shop specializing in carriages and the oxen that pull them. It was a shop on the higher end of their price range. Even so, Yichen and Mochou agreed it was worth the cost considering it would essentially be their home for a period of time.

"That one!"

"No, this one!"

"Look, over there! That one's so big."

"Muchen, Muyang, get back here!" Yichen said as he chased after them. The moment they reached the shop both of them ran off. He tried stopping them but unlike Mochou, he struggled to get them to listen.

After chasing the twins all over the place for nearly five minutes he caught them. With both of them wriggling under his arms he approached the staff member that had been enjoying the show.

"Good day, Sir. How may I help you?" The man asked.

"My spouse and I intend to travel the country for an extended period of time. We'd like to purchase two oxen and a carriage that can comfortably fit our family of four as well as our luggage." Yichen said.

"Yeah, like that big red one over there. It's so cool!" Muchen added.

"No, the black one is better. Did you see the comfy cushions inside?" Muyang rebutted.

Yichen shook the two noisy Goji Berries under his arms. He wanted them to be quiet but instead they started cheering and laughing. Apparently, being shaken was fun like riding a roller coaster.

"Muchen, Muyang, be quiet or I will tell your fumu!" Yichen threatened when they kept shouting and pointing at the different carriages available.

"..."

Yichen's threat worked and they both went quiet in his arms. Satisfied and feeling guilty for making Mochou out to be the scary one again he returned to discussing things with the salesclerk.

"We have several models available. This one is the most popular for travellers. It offers comfortable seating with storage on the roof and back." The man said as he showed them a typical passenger carriage.

Yichen looked inside with dissatisfaction. It looked comfortable but they could only sit inside. There was no floor space for the twins to play. They would also have to set up a tent to sleep separately.

"Do you have anything with less built in furniture? Something open and spacious." Yichen asked

"For those who prioritize space something like this one over here is best. The seating is far less comfortable and only on the sides but if one were to want to take a rest this open area offers plenty of space for bedding or toys." The man said.

Yichen gave it a good look and liked the space but the driver was separated from the back by a wall with only a little window to see inside. Since he would be driving he didn't want to be cut off from the rest of his family.

"This is closer to what I want but do you have anything where the driver can see inside better?"

"We do. Come this way." The salesclerk said.

...

After looking at several carriage Yichen decided to splurge on a large carriage with a dark wood finish. It was different because the driver's area included to rows of seating and a door to the back. In back it was completely empty so they could set up their bedding and still have plenty of room for their luggage. The roof was made of wood so they had additional storage on top they could store under a heavier leather tarp.

Along with the carriage Yichen purchased two strong oxen. They were large, healthy, and young enough to be used for a long period of time. Yichen knelt down in front of the Goji Berries and grabbed their little faces to make sure they were listening to him.
