Yichen was gone a lot longer than he planned. He found three wealthy customers and earned 12 small silver in exchange. Combined with the money he originally brought he now had enough to cover the cost of one more night at the inn.He looked up at the fourth floor of the inn on his way back. Even from the street and through the snow he could see the window of their room still open.
"How could you still not close the window with all this snow?!" Yichen cursed as he rushed into the inn. He flew up the stairs ignoring all the other guests.
When he reached the second floor he was out of breath. He swung the door open and felt the cold wind against his face. A little angry that Mochou went through with his threat Yichen rushed to the sofa looking for him.
"Where is he?!"
Yichen looked around the cold room. But couldn't find Mochou.
"Why does he always like to disappear when I'm not looking?" Yichen complained. Mochou had this bad habit of not being where he was supposed to be. Especially when Yichen was in a rush to find him.
He opened the door to the toilet thinking Mochou was using it. It was empty. So was the room with the tub and the bed.
"Where is he hiding?" With no place left in the room unchecked Yichen could only assume Mochou had left the room. He flew down the stairs even faster than when he went up. The moment he reached the bottom of the stairs he found Mochou sitting by the heater by the innkeepers desk.
"Mochou?!" He shouted the moment he saw him.
"You finally noticed I was gone." Mochou casually said.
Mochou had been sitting by the entrance for awhile waiting for him. When Yichen returned he tried calling out but Yichen was in too much of a rush to notice him. Mochou didn't mind. He found it endearing and a little funny.
"Finally! What do you mean? How long have you been down here? No, why are you even down here?" Yichen asked. He was glad to have finally found Mochou. He was also a little angry at him for going down the stairs given his condition.
"It wasn't by choice. I needed to use the bathroom." Mochou said.
"Why didn't you use the one upstairs? I know you hate it but you used it last night and this morning." Yichen said dumbfounded by his response.
"That's... I needed to... I.. I couldn't use that thing." Mochou said too ashamed to go into detail. Yichen didn't need him to say more to understand the reason.
"Mochou, your safety is more important than your bashful nature when it comes to your bathroom habits. You could have fallen down the stairs. It was really dangerous." Yichen exclaimed loudly.
Cough!
The innkeeper standing close by coughed loudly. Apparently Yichen's little outburst was unwelcome. Yichen didn't care but Mochou turned bright red.
"Let's go back upstairs." Yichen said in a quieter voice.
Mochou agreed and tried to stand up. The bench he was sitting on was too low and he struggled to no avail. Yichen noticed his difficulty and hurried over to pick him up. He then carefully carried him back upstairs. This time his steps were a lot slower.
"Tired?" Mochou asked when he noticed his slow pace.
"Not at all." Yichen said. His pace suddenly increasing after Mochou mentioned it. Mochou laughed at his unexpected burst of energy.
"Don't laugh I am upset with you." Yichen said out of embarrassment.
"Why are you mad? Is it because I went downstairs? You never said I couldn't go downstairs."
