Maybe there's nothing more you can give me,
You gave everything you had,
And I know that one day, it might have been enough.
But today, it isn't.
Still, I'll forever be thankful
For what you have given me—
For the lessons woven into soft whispers,
For the love that felt like a fragile thread,
Pulling us close, then slowly unraveling.
And the memories—oh, the memories—
Like sunsets captured in a jar,
Both beautiful and impossible to keep.
I wish I could hold onto you,
But you showed me that you didn't want to stay.
I know I tried to keep you,
But how do you hold on to someone
Who is half already gone?
There's no keeping someone
Who doesn't want to be kept,
No catching a bird that longs for the open sky.
Yet, I'm grateful the universe let you stop by,
If only for a while,
To touch my life with your fleeting light,
Leaving me with what you could,
And taking with you a piece of my heart.
