Love doesn't feel the same since you left me,
What it means to lose myself in someone else.
The love I felt with you was a one-of-a-kind,
A flame that burned bright and left it's mark.
You were my first, my awakening to love's power,
And no one can replicate what we shared.
But that's not a sorrow I carry—
Some things are meant to be irreplaceable,
Beautiful in their own time, then set free.
I still measure others by the way you loved me,
But I know now, no one can be you,
And that's not a burden, but a gift—
To have known a love so rare, so real,
And to have grown beyond its shadow.
You were a blessing and a lesson learned,
My heart's first dance, my sweetest scar.
You may have been my first love,
But I am finding the courage to love again.
