We walk through crowded rooms,
Eyes scanning faces like
We're searching for something sparkling,
Someone that fits just right,
Like a puzzle piece to our own jagged edges.
But we've got it wrong—
We think there's a perfect mold,
A shape that clicks with ours,
When in truth,
We're all just trying to make it work
With someone, anyone.
There are no "ugly" people,
Only those who don't stike us
Like lightning at first glance.
They might not light up our skies,
But they'll be someone's sunrise,
Someone's unexpected thunderstorm.
What I see as plain,
Another might see as perfection.
And that's the beauty in it all.
So I wait,
Not for someone to make me gasp,
But for the moment I feel it—
That WOW
I've been told only happens in movies,
That spark that ignites in someone's gaze
And makes my heart stutter.
And I know,
I am worthy of being awed by love,
Worthy of being someone's "WOW,"
Just as someone out there
Will someday be mine.
