You have to heal,
Even when the wounds are raw,
Still whispering under your skin like
Bruises that never fade.
Even when you're not 100% over it,
And closure remains an unopened letter,
Waiting on a doorstep that you'll never reach.
Even when the last chance to talk
Slipped through your fingers
Like smoke from a dying fire,
Because circumstances held you apart
Or their silence was a wall you couldn't climb.
Even when your apology is
A knot in your throat,
Your love a final breath
Caught between your lips—
They know.
Trust me, they know.
Even when you ache for the goodbye
That never came,
You must push forward,
Find an anchor,
Like a lighthouse in the storm,
Pulling you from the wreckage
Of what-ifs and could-have-beens.
Even if you never hear their voice again,
You will heal,
Like flowers breaking through
The cracks in concrete.
You will survive this heartbreak.
Healing is not a path with an end,
But a choice,
A thread you pick up each morning,
Weaving yourself whole again.
So choose, with trembling hands,
Over and over,
Until you are no longer unraveling.
You have to continue,
To survive this heartbreak.
