Sometimes, I want to say
I miss you— No context, no guilt,
No regrets, just the truth of it,
A simple ache that comes and goes
Like a song you can't forget.
I don't need you
To make things right,
Or erase the distance between us.
There's no fixing this,
And that's okay.
I just want you to know,
That sometimes, in the quiet moments,
I miss you, and I wish,
You could be here— Even though I know,
Deep down, I don't want you to be.
It's a longing that doesn't ask for more,
Than just to exist and be felt,
Without the need for you to come back,
Or fill the space where we once stood.
Sometimes, I miss you.
And I wish I could say it out loud,
Just to let it be, what it is—
A whisper to the wind,
Nothing more,
Nothing less.
