the air is tense, crackling with an undercurrent of magic. the dark walls of the chamber seem to press inward, amplifying the growing animosity between your two brothers. you stand off to the side, disoriented, unable to recall how you ended up here.

tom's eyes gleam with cold amusement as he glances over at you, his lips curling into a subtle smirk. mattheo, on the other hand, is taut with tension, his fists clenched at his sides, ready to spring at the slightest provocation.

"you've grown protective, mattheo," tom muses, his voice low and velvety. "it's almost endearing."

mattheo steps forward, blocking tom's view of you entirely. his dark eyes burn with fury, and his jaw tightens as he speaks through gritted teeth. "touch my sister, and you're dead."

"our sister," tom corrects softly, his voice dripping with control. he takes a slow, deliberate step forward, unfazed by the threat, his gaze unwavering. the words are meant to remind mattheo of their shared blood, a claim that tom believes gives him just as much right to you as mattheo.

but mattheo is having none of it.

"my sister." mattheo hisses, his tone deadly serious. there is no room for negotiation in his words. he doesn't see tom as a brother, not anymore. whatever familial connection they once shared has been severed long ago, corrupted by the darkness that has consumed tom. to mattheo, you aren't just a sibling by blood. you are his to protect, his responsibility, and he would sooner die than let tom have any sway over you.

tom raises an eyebrow, his smirk fading slightly as he senses the unyielding resolve in mattheo's voice. for the first time, there is a flicker of annoyance behind his calm exterior. "do you really think you can stop me, mattheo?" his voice is colder now, a sharp edge cutting through the room. "you, who was too weak to stop me before?"

"i wasn't weak. i didn't know what you had become," mattheo shoots back, his voice cracking slightly under the weight of years of guilt he has carried. "but i know now. and i'll never let you near her."

you take a step forward, but mattheo raises his hand, keeping you back. his eyes lock onto tom's with an intensity that speaks of years of pent-up anger. he knows what tom is capable of, what tom has already done. but you? you are off-limits.

"you always were sentimental, brother," tom says quietly. "that will be your downfall."

mattheo doesn't flinch. "try me."

"she is as much my sister as she is yours." tom's eyes flicker over mattheo's shoulder, landing briefly on you. "i need her as much as you do."

mattheo's voice is firm and accusatory. "for the wrong reasons. tell her the truth. tell her why you brought her here."

tom's gaze remains fixed on mattheo, a chilling calm settling over him. he steps closer, his voice lowering to a conspiratorial whisper. "you're right, mattheo. i did bring her here for a reason." he turns to you, his eyes gleaming with a twisted sense of affection. "i intended to make her a horcrux, just as i did with you, mattheo."

you feel a cold shiver run down your spine. "a horcrux?" you echo, disbelief and fear intertwining in your voice. you always knew about tom's fascination with dark magic, even when you were all younger, he would talk about horcruxes, though you never thought he would actually possess that power.

tom's smile widens, as if he's about to reveal a dark secret. "yes. i wanted us to be connected forever, as family. our souls entwined across eternity. isn't it poetic?" his voice drips with insincerity, the manipulation clear in his tone.

you look over at mattheo, searching for answers. "you're... a horcrux?" the question comes out in a breathless, horrified whisper. you turn back to tom, a mix of shock and betrayal in your eyes. "how? why?"
