"hey there, gorgeous," he says, his voice weak but still managing a small, flirty smile. "miss me?" he says.

"stop it," you say, tears welling up in your eyes. "we need to get you out of here. you'll be okay." you say.

he coughs, blood staining his lips. "always the optimist," he chuckles softly, wincing in pain. "but we both know... this is it." he says.

"don't say that," you plead, pressing your hand against his wound, desperate to stop the bleeding. "you're not allowed to leave me." you say.

"always so bossy," he teases, his eyes softening as he looks at you. "i always liked that about you." he says.

tears stream down your face as you shake your head. "you can't die. not now. not here." you say.

he reaches up, his hand trembling, to brush a tear from your cheek. "i think... you might be the only one who ever got to see the real me," he says, his voice faltering. "i'm glad it was you." he says.

"stop talking like that," you beg, your voice breaking. "you're going to be fine. just hold on a little longer." you say.

he gives a weak laugh that quickly turns into a painful cough. "always the hero," he murmurs, his gaze locked onto yours. "i never told you... how much i love you." he says.

"i love you too," you whisper, your heart shattering. "so much." you say.

"hold me, please," he says, his voice barely audible.

you pull him closer, cradling him in your arms. "i'm here," you say, your voice choked with sobs. "i'm right here." you say.

"promise me," he says, his voice fading. "promise you'll live. for both of us. and don't forget me." he says.

"i promise," you say, tears streaming down your face. "i'll never forget you." you say.

his grip on your hand tightens briefly, his eyes filled with a mixture of pain and affection. "thank you... for making my life worth living," he whispers, his breath hitching.

you hold him close, feeling his warmth slipping away. "please, don't leave me," you cry, pressing your forehead to his.

"i'll always be with you," he murmurs, his voice fading. "in your heart." he says.

with a final breath, his body goes still, his hand letting go of yours. the world around you fades, and all you can feel is the unbearable ache of losing the one person who made everything worth it.

you sit there, cradling his lifeless body, the battle continuing to rage on around you, but your world has come to a devastating halt.
