you fight alongside him, adrenaline coursing through your veins as curses fly past. for a moment, you think all is well, the two of you perfectly in sync, but then a flash of light strikes him, and he crumples to the ground, clutching his stomach.
"blaise!" you scream, panic seizing your chest. you drop everything, rushing to his side, heart pounding as you kneel beside him. but before you can reach him, another spell hits you. pain explodes in your side, and you collapse beside him, gasping for breath. both of you are bleeding out, the cold ground beneath you soaking up your blood.
a death eater looms over you, ready to deliver the final blow. his, eyes filled with determination despite his pain, raises his wand one last time. with all the strength he can muster, he casts a fatal spell. the death eater dissipates into the air.
you look at him, your chest tight with gratitude and despair. your injuries are too severe, help isn't coming. you know this is it. these are your final moments.
"do you think we'll see each other in heaven?" he asks, his voice strained but calm, his dark eyes meeting yours.
a strangled chuckle escapes you despite the agony, the sound mingling with the pain in your chest. he chuckles too, though the sound is weaker. "well, it doesn't matter," he murmurs, his gaze softening. "i've already seen an angel, and she's right beside me."
you want to answer, but the words catch in your throat. he seems to understand. his hand reaches for yours, and you intertwine your fingers, holding onto each other in the midst of this cruel finality.
he gazes at you with intensity, his eyes brimming with love and acceptance. "if we make it out of this..." his voice is almost hopeful. "i want to marry you."
his words take you by surprise, cutting through the agony. "i don't care if it's a grand wedding or a quiet ceremony, or if we're too young. i just want to spend the rest of my life with you."
a gentle smile tugs at his lips. "when this is all over, we'll settle down somewhere quiet. we'll have a small house, maybe in the muggle world, with a garden where you can grow your favorite flowers."
a soft laugh escapes you, the image he paints so beautiful it almost makes you forget the blood pooling beneath you. "what about you?" you ask, your voice fragile.
"me?" his voice carries a hint of playfulness despite the situation. "i'd wake up beside you every morning, make you tea the way you like it, and listen to you talk about anything that comes to mind, even when it's too early and i'm half-asleep." he lifts your hand to his lips, pressing a tender kiss against your skin. the simple act, so filled with love, makes your heart ache with sadness and joy all at once.
"that sounds perfect," you murmur, trying to smile through the pain.
"you're perfect," he replies, his voice filled with quiet emotion. there's a sadness in his tone now, a realization that this might be the end. his eyes are still fixed on you, unwavering in their adoration. "i always knew you were the one," he says, his voice cracking. "i'll always love you."
your heart tightens, but you try to stay strong for him, for both of you. "i love you too," you say, voice raw with emotion.
your bodies grow colder, your breaths shallower, and you feel him pull you into his arms, gathering you close. you rest your head against his chest, listening to the fading rhythm of his heartbeat, once so strong, now faltering.
"i'm scared," he whispers, his facade of bravery finally breaking. "i always thought i wasn't afraid of death, but now... now i don't want to leave you."
you swallow the lump in your throat, your voice weak but determined. "i'm right here," you murmur, reaching for his hand again, fingers intertwining.
he holds you tighter, his breathing growing more labored. "tell me we'll be okay," he whispers, his voice breaking with fear and pain.
you close your eyes, trying to push back the darkness, the pain, everything. "we will be," you whisper, even as you feel his grip weakening. "we'll get through this..."
but even as you say the words, you can feel him slipping away. his breathing slows, and he lets out a shuddering breath. "you're all i ever wanted," he manages, his voice barely audible now.
in a voice so faint it's almost lost to the wind, he speaks again. "i think this is it... i- i love you, y/n." his words are soft, full of everything he wishes he could have said. "i love you."
