Months had passed, and JK had been relentless in his efforts to win over Mi-Rae. Slowly but surely, she found herself warming up to him, her feelings starting to bloom in ways she hadn't expected.
One day, in the middle of one of her classes, Mi-Rae felt a familiar presence next to her. She turned to find JK sneaking into the seat beside her, wearing that trademark mischievous grin.
Mi-Rae: (whispering) "JK, what are you doing here?"
Jungkook: (pouting) "Babe, let's go out. I'm so bored today."
Mi-Rae: "No, it's an important class today. I can't just skip."
Jungkook: (pleading) "Please, babe, come on. Let's go."
He grabbed her notebook and began doodling little hearts in the corner.
Mi-Rae: shook her head, trying not to smile. "What are you doing now?"
Jungkook: (grinning) "You bring out the artist in me, babe. Can't help it."
Mi-Rae tried to focus on the class, but JK's persistence was too distracting.
Mi-Rae: "Seriously, Jk. Let me focus."
Jungkook: sighed dramatically, resting his head on the desk. "Fine, fine."
While Mi-Rae listened to the lecture, JK leaned on the table, clearly bored, and started staring at her intently. She could feel his eyes on her, making her feel both shy and flustered.
After a few moments, unable to concentrate, Mi-Rae turned to him and placed her palm over his eyes.
Mi-Rae: (softly) "Stop staring."
JK smiled under her touch and closed his eyes, settling back into his chair.
It wasn't long before his breathing evened out, and he drifted off to sleep.
Mi-Rae glanced at him, amused. She couldn't help but find him cute in moments like these. With his eyes closed, face peaceful, and his lips curved into a small smile even in sleep, JK seemed different-so much softer and vulnerable.
Without thinking, Mi-Rae found herself watching him, her heart fluttering in a way that surprised her.
She couldn't deny it anymore-he'd snuck his way into her heart.
After class ended, Yae-Jin came over to Mi-Rae, giving her a friendly nudge.
Yae-Jin: "Come on, let's go."
Mi-Rae quickly glanced at JK, who was fast asleep beside her, and gestured for Yae-Jin to be quiet.
Mi-Rae: (whispering) "Shhh... he's sleeping."
JK, meanwhile, had woken up but kept his eyes half-closed, eavesdropping on their conversation.
Yae-Jin: (whispering) "So, when are you going to tell him?"
Mi-Rae: (confused) "Tell him what?"
Yae-Jin: "That you love him too."
Mi-Rae: "Shut up, I don't..."
Yae-Jin gave her a knowing look.
Yae-Jin: "Who are you lying to? I know you're scared, but it's better to tell him first. Let him decide."
Mi-Rae: (sighing) "I don't want to tell him. What if he leaves me after I do?"
Yae-Jin: "JK is head over heels for you. He's not going anywhere."
Mi-Rae fell silent, clearly lost in thought.
Yae-Jin: "Think about it. I'm heading home. See you tomorrow."
Mi-Rae: "I'll think about it. Take care."
As Yae-Jin left, Mi-Rae sat there, her expression serious, lost in thought as she glanced at JK, wondering what to do.
JK, having heard the entire conversation, kept up the act, pretending to wake up just then.
He stretched dramatically and turned toward Mi-Rae, grinning.
Jungkook: "Babe, why didn't you wake me up? When did class finish?"
Mi-Rae snapped out of her thoughts.
Mi-Rae: "Class finished just now. I was about to wake you."
They both stood up, Mi-Rae gathering her things when suddenly JK pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her from behind. He rested his chin on her shoulder, the warmth of his embrace sending her heart racing.
Mi-Rae: (flustered) "JK, what are you doing? We're still in the classroom!"
Jungkook: (whispering softly) "I love you, babe. I'll be with you no matter what."
Mi-Rae froze, her mind racing. Did he hear their conversation? She turned to face him, her heart pounding.
Mi-Rae: "Did you... hear anything?"
JK raised an eyebrow, feigning innocence.
Jungkook: "Heard what?"
Mi-Rae shook her head, quickly brushing it off.
Mi-Rae: "No, nothing. Let's go."
But as they walked out together, her mind was still swirling with thoughts,
JK held Mi-Rae's wrist gently, leading her through the crowd.
Mi-Rae: (softly) "JK, what's gotten into you? You're acting strange. Let go, people are watching."
Jungkook: (grinning) "Let them watch, babe. I want the whole world to know you're mine."
Mi-Rae was taken aback, her cheeks flushing as she stared down at the ground, shyly walking beside him. His words echoed in her mind, and she couldn't help but feel a mixture of joy and nervousness.
