"A little boy, a bunny, and a family made of music and love."
The studio was quiet, dimly lit with the warm hum of a desk lamp flickering in the corner. Chan rubbed his tired eyes and stretched his back, the final echoes of a beat still looping in the background as he saved his progress. It was well past midnight, and the rest of the group had long gone home after rehearsal. He figured he'd grab one last bottle of water before heading out, maybe take a breath in the hallway. But then—
Giggle.
Chan froze.
There it was again. A soft, high-pitched giggle coming from the practice room.
His brows drew together as he quietly stepped into the hallway and peeked toward the door. The faint glow from the practice room lights spilled out onto the floor. The door was cracked open.
Giggle. Crunch. Crunch.
Chan slowly pushed the door open.
Inside, a small child—no more than two years old—sat cross-legged on the polished floor. He had chubby cheeks, golden curls, and bright eyes. His tattered stuffed bunny was perched beside him, and his tiny hands were covered in crumbs from the half-eaten cookies scattered around him. Jisung must've left those earlier. The toddler was giggling to himself, talking to the bunny as if it were real.
"—BunBun so silly. You eat cookie, you get belly ache!" the child said, then laughed again, falling over gently and clutching the bunny to his chest.
Chan blinked. "Uh... hey there, little guy."
The toddler looked up, startled, but didn't seem scared. "Hiiiii."
"Um... what's your name?" Chan asked, crouching down slowly, trying not to spook him.
"Feewix," he said proudly, crumbs sticking to his lips. "I two!" He held up four fingers.
Chan smiled softly. "Nice to meet you, Felix. Uh... where are your parents?"
Felix's smile faded. He hugged the bunny tighter and looked down. "Daddy no want me no more."
Chan's heart cracked. He took a cautious step closer. "What do you mean, sweetheart?"
Felix sniffled. "I be bad... Daddy say no more Feewix. Put me down... and go 'way. So I have BunBun. And me found cookie."
Chan sat down fully, crossing his legs. "Hey... you're not bad. You're just a little guy. And you deserve to be loved, okay?"
Felix peeked up at him again, eyes wide.
Chan held out his hand gently. "How about this? I take care of you now, yeah? You want to come home with me?"
Felix looked at him for a long moment, then slowly crawled into Chan's lap without a word, curling up like he'd been waiting to hear that forever.
The sun poured into the dorm's living room, soft and golden.
Minho stretched as he walked out of his room in his pajamas, yawning. "Morning," he muttered to no one in particular, rubbing his eyes.
"Hyung, I swear if you left the TV on again—" Seungmin came around the corner but stopped dead. "What the hell."
"What?" Minho asked, then turned—and froze.
There, on the couch, Chan was fast asleep with a toddler curled up on his chest, clutching a ratty stuffed bunny. Felix's tiny fist was gripping the front of Chan's hoodie, his drool soaking into the fabric. Chan's hand was protectively resting on Felix's back.
Hyunjin peeked in from the kitchen. "Did someone bring their cousin over or something?"
"No one told me we were adopting a child," Jisung whispered, eyes wide.
