PEARL'S P.O.V
It was a quiet day at the office.
There wasn't much to do, Bethany wasn't around, so everything was pretty chill. I laid back on my seat, fiddling with a pen in my hand.
The door was thrown open and there was Kourtney, we both held on a stare and a smile appeared on her lips. "Wanna go shopping?"
"Anything to get me out of this God forsaken office" I answered, springing up and grabbing my bag before heading out with her. She too was bored, and since there wasn't much to do here, why don't we pass time at a boutique or something?
Abel held the door open for us and I paused, "Abel, I'll love to drive today" I said and I saw as his brows twitched. "Mrs Ferrari..." He began and I held out a hand.
"You've done a lot, we'll be back in a jiffy, I promise" I explained, more like pleaded.
Most times, I didn't feel like I was In control, driving was one of the many things that reminded me that I was.
Moments later.
I let out a sigh as we hit the road, I was the one behind the wheel, "I've missed this" Kourtney commented and I glanced at her. "What?"
"This carefree life. Remember when we used to be jobless?" She reminded, chuckling to herself. "When you were jobless" I corrected and she nudged me. "I've always been self employed"
"You got fired from LA Times!" She deadpan.
"In my defense, my boss was shitty"
"How much you've turned out like him" she muttered and I smacked her and she laughed. I shook my head, turning back to the road.
I indeed miss that carefree life.
"Remember how we met?" She asked and my smile widened, "I pasted a flyer in your apartment door and you threw a fit" I replied.
"You were littering and loitering!" She exclaimed. "I was advertising!" I defended.
"You pasted more that 8 flyers on my door post!"
"I sensed you were jobless" I replied and she smacked me. "Be careful, I'm still your boss"
Minutes later, we were browsing through the aisles of dresses in a chic boutique, iced coffee in hand, exuding an air of sophistication. Truthfully, we were sophisticated, but we rarely displayed it, as we were often too busy working to indulge in such luxuries.
"Bethany will love this one" she said, getting out a little lavender dress. "She would" I agree, pulling out more dresses.
"I wonder what they are doing right now"
"They are in the freaking Bahamas, what are you expecting?" I asked, taking a sip from my can. "Yeah, won't be surprised if she got back pregnant" she sang and I chuckled.
"That reminds me..." I remembered and she turned to me, "What's up?"
"Hillary is expecting "
She immediately spat out her coffee in my face, I shut my eyes, regretting why I ever opened my mouth to talk. "What?!" She exclaimed as I wiped my face.
"Fuck off" I gritted, walking past her but she hurriedly caught up with me. "You can't drop a bomb like that and walk away"
"You can't spit your coffee at other people's face!" I yelled back, causing attention our way but she pulled me to a more secluded area. "Hillary is pregnant?"
"Don't tell Bethany, I'm not ready for her drama" I replied, exasperated, tucking my hair behind my ear. "Pearl, come on!"
A smile tugged at my lips, I held information that she wanted to hear so bad, so why won't I use it?
