It's been a week.
And all I mostly did this week was...work, but this was a different kind of work, it was different in a sense where no one will understand aside me. It's been a good week despite everything and it was all dying down slowly.
And surprise surprise surprise, I wasn't the one trending any more, it was none other than our dear... Aiden Miller.
There's been a lot going on with RedCo and all, he has been losing a lot of business partners and clients and I'm certain the scandal wasn't the cause of it.
It was just a coincidence that was to his detriment but honestly I couldn't care less. I haven't been to the office in a while and...there wasn't anything to do at the office.
We have lost most clients we should be working with right now, might as well just slack all the way. But that wasn't the reason I wasn't going to the office.
I always thought work was the only thing that was real and...constant but the fact was that, I've just been...a typical workaholic. And this few days I've spent in the house has been...grounding.
It's been less stressful and demanding and I've been focusing less on me and more on what the papers has been talking about
Yeah, it's unhealthy but come on!
Though I've noticed LA Times haven't published anything about me since the first time and they only began publishing when Aiden's downfall started and they haven't made reference to me like other newspapers has.
I flipped to the next page, while sipping from the glass of margarita. "So, should I...continue?" Kourtney asked and I looked up.
Oh, I forgot to say...Kourtney was here. I too had forgotten she was here too, I had gotten engrossed in the papers.
"Yeah sure" I dropped the paper beside and turned to her but she held on a look with me, not going on with the rundown like she was supposed to.
"Why exactly do you want this? " she asked once again, crossing her leg over the other. "As I said, I just want to know, we made quite some progress in the second half of last year, I just needed a summary of it all"
"Well, it's sounding like a goodbye" she muttered and I chuckled before taking another sip from the glass. "Have you heard from Bethany though? " I inquired and she sighed and leaned back.
"I think she and Eric took another trip to the Bahamas"
"She deserves it. So...how's the wedding plans going?" I asked sitting up and a small smile made way to her lips, her both cheeks tinting red, the way this whole talk still gets her shy.
"Well, we were planning on having it in LA, obviously in...Paradise" she made that exceedingly clear and I grinned. "My parents and siblings will be flying down here soon"
"Ooh, I can't wait to see Mrs Shaw, I think she's the only parent that actually likes me" I commented and she laughed. "She loves you"
"But honestly, I wouldn't mind you guys taking your business elsewhere, don't want any of my scandal rubbing off on you both" I mentioned and she shot me a look.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I'm just saying—"
"I'm getting married and you don't get to plan it? In what world!" she declared and I laughed. "You're gonna be my wedding planner and also my bridesmaid" she stated and I leaned back on my seat just staring at her.
She was certain of this plan she made and there was no going back, it made me realize... I didn't deserve a friend like her.
She had gone back giving me the rundown but my mind was somewhere else as I stared at her, on the outside... I was fine but Inside... I was hurting and fighting a battle with...fairness.
