My eyes shot open and it settled on the glistering ring on the side table, the sun ray hit it resulting in a shimmer. I was numb for a second just staring at it.
I finally let out a sigh and sat up, taking in the room. The documents I have been working on was on the table with a mug of coffee and my phone.
I let out another sigh and raked my hair. Glancing at the clock, it was a little past 7 am. I might be early today. Might, I'm not making any promises.
I got out of the bed and headed out, I put my hair up in a bun and glanced down at the red silk short and sleeveless top I was wearing.
It will do for now.
I craved coffee this morning. I glanced down from the balcony to see him in the living room. He was pacing back and forth on a phone call, Harrison—his assistant was getting his suitcase ready.
When did he get back?
My curiosity piqued and I headed down the stairs, his gaze met mine, his attention slipping from the phone call he was making for a second.
His eyes followed me till I got down, "Good morning, Mrs Ferrari" Harrison greeted, pulling my attention from him. I mustered up a smile and glanced at him once again.
"Morning" I answered and he had returned to his call. I did a beeline to the kitchen, the fresh smell of bacon hitting me. Mitchell had made a feast this morning.
"Good morning, Mrs Ferrari" she greeted and I returned it as I surveyed the table, breakfast was a lot.
"Mitchell this is too much" I said and she turned to me with a mug of coffee before handing it to me, "Thank you" I appreciated, taking it.
"Mr Ferrari arrived this morning, so I thought I should —"
"He arrived this morning" I interrupted, surprised by her first statement. "Yes he did, presumedly at 5 am" she confirmed and I glanced back.
But he seemed like he was leaving again. Doesn't he get tired from the constant travels? "...so, I thought I should make all this" she finished, snapping my attention back. I only nodded and walked to the counter.
Doesn't he get burnt out? How is he everywhere at once? Why does he—
He immediately walked in, almost causing me to choke on my coffee, his eyes landed to mine and he stopped. I opened my mouth to say something but couldn't, has things gotten awkward between us?
"I'll be heading to Washington today" he informed. He was traveling again. "Is everything alright?" I inquired and I knew he understood what I meant.
He held on a gaze with me, his features unreadable, I hated when he does that. "Everything is fine, just a few things I have to handle"
I took a subtle sip of the coffee, "When will you coming back this time?" I asked and watched as a smirk made way to his lips.
And now there's that pompous asshole I knew.
"Are you gonna miss me —"
"Travis" I drawled, throwing my head back and he chuckled, "Just leave already, go now" I urged him out. "Before Sunday" he answered my earlier question and I smiled.
"Here" I straight out my coffee to him, "You need it more than I do" I admitted and he glanced down at it before taking it.
"You're making it so hard for me to believe you still hate me" he mentioned. "Leave!" I pointed at the door.

“Yes, I know,” I sighed, glancing out the window. “So, Bethany left now. Where was the appointment made?” I asked.
