PEARL'S P.O.V

It's been a week and do you wanna know how that have been? We were still tryna find a dress for Bethany, all dress shopping has been unfruitful.

Then back at home, he has been...busy. No, that word 'busy' doesn't do it justice. He was more busy than a freaking bee. He usually gets back at midnight when I'm asleep and in the morning, he is either out or brainstorming in his study.

He is always on a call, he is never present , he is never there. Honestly, I haven't seen him in days and I haven't tried disturbing him. He was busy for a reason, he had a lot on his shoulder.

I could feel the pressure on him that's why I haven't interfere or complain, what will I be even complaining about?

He owes me nothing, this was all a contract and I needed to remind myself that everyday. I haven't gotten a chance to speak with him since my encounter with Josephine.

And I wasn't ready to add more to his burden, he had a lot to handle with Trent and the freaking Society that turned out to be shit! And what puzzled me the most was that, why was Aiden trying to sell it to me like rainbows and butterflies.

What was he playing at? And why would he be lying to be? I might consider that drink he was offering, at least it will give us a chance to talk.

The car came to a halt and I looked out the window, we were at the Empire. I did say I haven't seen in days, so here I was paying him a visit.

Abel opened the door for me and I stepped out, adjusting the white silk dress I had on, it was halter and had the sides open, my hair in a sleek bun. I walked towards the double doors and it got pulled open.

I glided through the lobby to the elevator, good thing, I had this ride all to myself. I walked down the hallway to the office, turning back to Abel I said, "Wait here"

With that I pushed open the door open and stepped in. My gaze immediately settled on Travis and...you won't fucking believe it—Erica.

He had a glint of surprise as his eyes settled on mine, his both hands in his pocket. Eric stood by his side, her hands over his shoulder, a fulfilled smile on her lips.

I walked in fully, my hands tightening by my side. "Hey" he said, walking to me. I halted, my gaze on the bitch behind, I didn't even notice when he laid a kiss on my neck.

"What brings you here?" He asked and my gaze shifted to his, he was a shadow of himself and only eyes noticed. "To see you, silly" I answered, pushing out a smile before turning to her.

"Nice to see you again, Erica" I called out and she smiled and walked forward to us, Travis's hands looped around my waist. "Yes, it is indeed. What has it been? A month?" She asked.

"It has been a month" I confirmed as we maintained that fake smile like it was second armour. What the hell was she doing here with him? My eyes moved to his and I hoped he saw the death glare that was brewing with them.

"Alright" she broke through the tension. "I'll be on my way now, Travis. I wouldn't want to interfere in this moment with your wife" she spat the last word like it was venom.

"Sure" he nodded. "How nice of you, I hope you both had a great time " I beamed tightly and she chuckled. "You have no idea" with that she picked up her bag before shooting us one last look and heading out.

Once the doors shut close, I moved out of his grip and walked further into the office, hands crossed over my chest. I surveyed the place, he had burnt out cigar stick on the ash tray and lots of documents scattered on the table.

I turned back to him, he stood at that spot, raking his hair. He didn't look his best today, or any other day in this week. "You've been away" I mentioned and his gaze met mine.
