PEARL'S P.O.V

"And so we flew to Bora Bora to finish our honeymoon..." Bethany said and Kourtney squealed in excitement while I nodded. "Well, how was the event yesterday?" She inquired.

"It was all good. Though Travis and Pearl had to leave early" Kourtney pointed out and she turned to me. "Something came up"

"Something came up , alright" Bethany teased and they both chuckled. There will never understand, something did come up—a lot.

"Enough about me" I waved it off. "Look at you, you're glowing" I praised and she flicked her hair. "If anything, I would have loved to stay by the beach much longer but life has to continue" she said.

"You could have taken two weeks off, it is your honeymoon " I reminded and I grinned. "I missed you guys honestly, how are things over here?"

"Things have been quiet, boring even since after your wedding" Kourtney admitted and I nodded in agreement. "I'm so sorry you guys. You know what?"

"We are gonna paste flyers all over town once again!" She declared and I laughed, "oh come on , you guys. We are bigger than that" I waved it off.

"Remember at the beginning, we were on the verge of bankruptcy " Kourtney reminisced and I chuckled. "Yeah, Pearl had multiple panic attacks"

"Multiple?" I asked in disbelief. "But a lot have changed since then, it's been 6 months " Kourtney pointed out and I let out a sigh.

A lot have changed in this 6 months, I got married, Bella lost her child, Kourtney began dating Davis, Bethany got proposed to, Hillary got pregnant, Natalia gave birth and now... Bethany was married and...I was married still, it should end this month but...I don't even know where things were headed, honestly.

After the argument outside Vega's place, I went back home and I wasn't sure he got back but he did, I caught a glimpse of him this morning before he left again.

I don't know where things stood between us, the tension was still palpable. He didn't deny anything I said yesterday, Darren opened up all of it to me. I know, you are wondering how he knows all this.

But I've figured it out, Darren was also part of the society. He made it pretty clear, everyone was part of this Society that it seemed so inevitable.

It made my skin crawl and made me look over my shoulder every second. "Pearl!" I was snapped back to reality by the girls, they shot me a narrowed look and I brightened up immediately.

"Yeah?"

"Are you okay?" Bethany inquired and I nodded. "Yeah yeah, what were we talking about?"

"Lunch, we were talking about lunch, are you down?" She asked and I pushed out a bright smile.

I let out a sigh and shut my laptop before looking up, I glanced at the clock beside, it was past 8 pm. And I've been up working but now I felt tired and sleepy but I couldn't go to bed knowing he was still up.

He has been home but I haven't seen him, he has been home but I haven't seen him, he has been in that study all day.

I hissed and got out of the bed, fixing the little silk top I wore before heading out of the room. I paused at the hallway, contemplating if I should go meet him but I decided to help out in some way.

I headed downstairs and there was Evelyn getting out of the kitchen, "Mrs Ferrari, is there anything I could get for you?" She inquired.

If he was gonna pull an all nighter, I should help he out. "Coffee"

Moments later, I pushed open the door to the study and walked in, he looked up from his desk, surprise in his eyes.

I ignored and walked to his table before placing it down beside, he glanced up at me. I rolled my eyes, my fingers trailing up his shoulder as I stopped behind.

I began slowly massaging his shoulder and felt him ease up in my hands. "Is this a set up?" He asked, his voice lacing with interest. "It might be, it's a warning though"

"A warning"

"I might snap your neck any second from now if you spend another hour on this desk"

"I'm working, Stella"

I then hit his shoulder and he chuckled. "You did bring me coffee to keep me awake "

"Well, not to work" I interjected and he hummed, turning to face me and I knew what was coming next and I wanted to make a run for it but he pulled me down to his lap.

"Explain yourself "

"Explain yourself?" I scoffed. "You're the one spending more time on numbers and deadline "

"Are you jealous?"

"Oh please, your career will always be your first love" I replied, rolling my eyes. "I gotta stay on Forbes billionaire list in a way "

"I hate you" I mouthed and chuckled, leaning back on his seat and just staring at me. "What?"

A smile made way to his lips, "If I got this treatment every evening, then work wouldn't be so troubling" he admitted and I grinned.

"In your dreams, this treatment is only special because it's rare"

"Yeah, it is" he agreed. "Now, get back to work and finish it" I said, getting up and spinning his chair to face back the table. He chuckled before sitting up and getting back to work.

This was my way of support.
