PEARL'S P.O.V
I put on my glasses before stepping out of the car. I stared up at the building before glancing back at Abel who stood put at the car, "Wait here" I said before walking forward towards the building.
It was Wednesday, two days after the scandal which was still everywhere, it was no longer in the papers but still in everyone's mouth.
This was my first time stepping out of the house since after the whole thing. Today was the day I decided to meet with Aiden to sort this whole thing out, he was the only one that could clear the air.
I walked into the lobby and into the elevator, I got in and tapped the button. It has been a lot lately, the back lash has been heavy, it was all everyone could talk about.
I couldn't believe I was standing here right now but inside was...a whole mess. I haven't received any calls, especially from family members, I couldn't give answers, I couldn't defend myself.
My mother has been awfully quiet, she hasn't called or dropped by, Bella and Derrick were still in Bali, I wasn't sure they have heard the news.
The doors slid open and I almost forgot to step out, letting out a sigh, I headed down the hall to the apartment. My hair was in a sleek bun and I wore a brown woolly dress with a brown coat over it.
I stopped at the door and pressed the button, holding my bag in front of me, it took a second before it got pulled open and there he stood.
A wide smile enveloped his lips as he stepped forward and embraced me, I remained standing there without moving a muscle, he pulled out and stared at me. "Are you okay?"
"Can we talk inside?" I demanded and he nodded and moved out of the way. I stepped into the cool apartment and looked around, memories of what transpired between us in this room flooded my mind.
I turned back around to him, he was only in black pants and shirt. "I'm happy to see you're okay, Pearl" he said, walking to me.
"It seems like you haven't left...this place" I observed, still looking around. He nodded, rubbing the back of his neck, "it's been a lot"
"Yeah" I agreed.
"Please sit" he gestured at the sofa and I slowly sat down, placing my bag on the table and he took the one opposite me. "Okay..." I began. "I've devised a means for us to end this rumor going on"
He sat up, giving me his undivided attention. "We have to let them know the truth. The idea of what happened that night...they got it all wrong "
"How?" He asked and I shot him a pointed look. "Aiden, I'll accept the fact you got taken by the moment, I'll forget what you said after it all happened. But the truth is...you came unto me and I stopped you before it turned into something else" I reminded the obvious.
He slowly leaned back on his seat, a little smile on his lips. "So what do you have in mind to fix this?" He asked.
"You have to make a statement, you have to say the truth. You have to let everyone know what truly happened" I answered. "And what truly happened?"
I paused and shot him a look, "I just said it"
He slowly sat up. "Pearl, what happened... happened. Remember we've shared something more intimate before"
"That was before. Before I was married" I corrected. "Was it really before? Does your union with Travis change anything?" He asked and I sat up too.
"What are you even talking about?" I asked, confused. "I can't do what your asking, Pearl" he said, shaking his head.
