He shifted at my side, his hands moved possessively around me. Instinctively, I leaned into him, delighting in the warmth of his body behind mine.
Spooning with the devil himself.
I felt his shallow breathing on my neck, the event last night flashing in my head like a wave. I shut my eyes, sucking in a breath.
It happened, that I can't deny. All of it happened and I can't pretend it didn't.
Gosh! This was gonna be such an elephant in the room. I glanced down at his arm around me, I had to get out of here.
That was the next thought that came to mind, I couldn't talk to him, I couldn't stand him. How the hell did this even happen?
Was I even gonna be able to walk properly? my eyes shot to the clock. 9:45 am. Shit! I was gonna be late to the office.
Where's my dress? My eyes searched the room, I was gonna scold myself later. Gosh! This feels oddly familiar.
I've done this before.
I moved a bit, his hand didn't budge. I tried moving again but this time he pulled me back. I felt him let out another breath over my shoulder and my body went rigid at once.
"Are you trying to bolt like it was a one night stand?" I heard him murmur in my hair. I felt a chill run down my bare back as I innerly cursed.
He was awake.
"It was a one night stand" I retorted lowly, the words not even convincing me. It was everything but definitely not a one night stand.
Considering how many times it happened and how many different...places it went down. Oh gosh, Pearl, you have no explanation.
His went breathing went back shallow, he didn't give a reply. "Are you seriously going back to sleep?" I snapped.
"Just a moment, before you go back hating me" he requested, pulling me even closer. My inside churn with fire and I felt desire wash over me once again as I get him right below my legs.
Focus Pearl, this can't happen again, get a grip of yourself. I have to get out of here, just as I was planning a possible escape route in my head, the buzzing of a phone interrupted.
My eyes shot open and I felt him shift a bit, it wasn't mine, so it was his. It continued ringing and he let out a low huff before moving away, his hands freeing me and all the warmth going with him also.
I needed that, it was kinda freezing this morning.
But I had to focus, I had a chance of leaving. He answered the phone and was sited on the edge of the bed, now in his black pants.
He murmured in Italian, raking his hair and I knew that was my cue. I sat down and peeked under the sheets, at least I was reasonable enough to throw on back the little top.
Getting up, I headed into the bathroom. I let out a low sigh and took in my reflection, my hair was a mess, my face bare and there was a...
There was...shit!
There was a hickey just below my collarbone. This asshole was leaving his mark on me.
I sighed and leaned down on the sink to wash my face, I was so so tired this morning. Considering the fact we didn't sleep last night, oh gosh!
Okay okay, calm down, Pearl. Let's do a thorough evaluation, was there a chance of escaping what transpired last night?
I thought it through, so many open windows flashed in my head, so many chances I would have taken. But I didn't take any of it.
