He shifted at my side, his hands moved possessively around me. Instinctively, I leaned into him, delighting in the warmth of his body behind mine.
Spooning with the devil himself.
I felt his shallow breathing on my neck, the event last night flashing in my head like a wave. I shut my eyes, sucking in a breath.
It happened, that I couldn't deny. All of it happened and I couldn't pretend it didn't.
Gosh! This was gonna be such an elephant in the room. I glanced down at his arm around me, I had to get out of here. That was the next thought that came to mind
I shouldn't talk to him, I shouldn't stand him. How the hell did this even happen? Was I even gonna be able to walk properly now? My gaze shot to the clock. 9:45 am.
Shit! I was gonna be late to the office. Like I even cared.
Where's my dress? My eyes searched the room, I was gonna scold myself later, but for now, I needed to leave.
Gosh! This feels oddly familiar. I've done this before.
I moved a bit, his hand didn't budge. I tried moving again but this time he pulled me closer. I felt him let out another breath over my shoulder and my body went rigid at once.
"Are you trying to bolt like it was a one night stand?" I heard him murmur in my hair. I felt a chill run down my bare back as I innerly cursed.
He was awake.
"It was a one night stand" I retorted lowly, the words not even convincing me.
It was everything but definitely not a one night stand. Considering how many times it happened and how many different positions—
Oh gosh, Pearl, you are whipped!
His breathing went shallow, he didn't give a reply. "Are you seriously going back to sleep?" I snapped.
"Just a moment, before you go back hating me" he requested, pulling me even closer. My inside churn with fire and I felt desire wash over me once again.
Focus Pearl, this can't happen again, get a grip of yourself!
I had to get out of here. Just as I was planning a possible escape route in my head, the buzzing of a phone interrupted.
My gaze widened and I felt him shift a bit, it wasn't mine, so it was his. It continued ringing and he let out a low huff before moving away, his hands freeing me and all the warmth going with him too.
I needed that, it was kinda freezing this morning.
But I had to focus, I had a chance of leaving. He answered the phone and was sited on the edge of the bed, now in his black pants.
He murmured in Italian, raking his hair and I knew that was my cue. I sat up and peeked underneath the sheets, at least I was reasonable enough to throw back on the little top I wore last night.
Getting up, I headed into the bathroom. I let out a low sigh and took in my reflection, my hair was a mess, my face bare and there was a...
There was... shit!
There was a hickey just below my collarbone. That Asshole marked me.
I groaned and leaned down on the sink to wash my face, I was drained
Okay okay, calm down, Pearl. Let's do a thorough evaluation of the situation, was there a chance of escaping what transpired last night?
I thought it through, so many open windows flashed in my head, so many chances I would have taken. But I didn't take any of it.
