I stepped out of the house, the weight of my black bag steady in my grip. Abel stood by the car, his hand already on the door, holding it open like clockwork. I slid into the seat with practiced ease, the door clicking shut behind me.
Exhaling slowly, I flicked my hair over my shoulder, letting the tension of the moment dissipate just a little.
Thursday.
Abel brought the car to life and drove out of the surrounding. I glanced down at the seat beside me, it had this morning's paper.
I picked it up and read the front page.
