The day of the Yule Ball had arrived, and Potter Manor was in complete chaos. Even though the ball was scheduled for the evening, Narcissa had assigned everyone last-minute tasks to complete. As was typical for her, the blonde witch began casting hexes like they were candy, causing most of the wizards in the manor to retreat either to their rooms or the library. Adelaide, on the other hand, was the calmest anyone had ever seen her and was happily helping the house elves and her three aunts prepare for the ball.
"Adelaide sweetheart-" Mrs Weasley called out, gaining the immortal witch's attention.
"Yes?" She approached the ginger witch who stood in the doorway, six unfamiliar women standing behind her who were staring at Adelaide with awe-filled eyes.
"These lovely ladies are here to do hair and make-up, is there somewhere they could set up?" Adelaide thought for a moment before nodding.
"Give me a moment" She quickly moved to find her god-mother, who she found standing in the family room with her hands on her hips, Neville and Blaise sitting in front of her with sheepish looks. "Oh Merlin, what have you two done now?"
"Your brother decided it would be a good idea to go outside, in his Ball robes to check on some of the plants he had planted-" Adelaide winced, hearing the frustrated tone in Alice's voice before looking at her brother with a 'are you serious' look. "I found Blaise trying to sneak into Sirius' firewhiskey stash"
Adelaide remained quiet for a moment before nodding slowly. "Right... well you seem to have this under control, Aunt Alice so... I should be going" She ignored the look of betrayal on the young wizards' faces as she ran out of the room, going to seek the next logical person; her uncle Moony.
"MOONY!"
"CUB" She rolled her eyes and moved to the back door, finding the werewolf smoking as he looked out into the distance.
"Hi! I was wondering where would be a good place for the stylists to work their magic?" He raised an eyebrow before shrugging.
"Why not your room?"
"Uh... because I don't want them to steal something, they were looking at me like I'm some sort of goddess"
"You're close, little love" Remus raised an eyebrow, seeing a blush appear on his cub's cheeks but decided against asking.
"Go to the tea room" Adelaide nodded with a smile before running out of the room, leaving her uncle watching in amusement as she narrowly dodged Belltrix, who was holding an antique vase.
"Watch where you're going, Little brat!"
"Piss off, Aunt Bella! Go comb your hair" Sirius' loud, bark-like laugh echoed from the kitchen at his daughter's response, while Bellatrix stood gaping in a mixture of shock and amusement.
Adelaide led six women to the tea room, where they began setting up for hair and makeup. Shortly after, Daphne, Tracy, Pansy, Ginny, and Luna arrived, excited expressions on their faces. This was the first time the youngest witches, along with Adelaide, would have their hair and makeup done professionally and they were all thrilled to spend this time together before having to socialise with the high-class Purebloods and ministry workers.
Hours later, their makeup and hair were finally complete, and everyone was thrilled with the results. The older witches had chosen to get ready in Narcissa's room, while the wizards occupied themselves in the library or one of the spare rooms. By the time everyone was ready, the start of the ball was fast approaching, and guests were beginning to arrive. Sirius and Remus stood at the hall doors, greeting each guest as they entered. The males of the pack, along with the parents were already in the hall, socialising the best they could as they waited for the pack females.
