It had been a few weeks and Adelaide was currently sitting at her dining table, a cup of coffee in hand, as her eyes scanned the Daily Prophet in front of her. Once again, Rita Skeeter had outdone herself, delving deeper into the manipulation of Dumbledore and uncovering information that even Adelaide didn't know. A slight smile crept across her lips at the thought of how the world would react to more of his secrets being revealed.

She raised her mug to sip her warm coffee, but paused when she felt a wave of sadness and fear flowing through one of the bonds. Closing her eyes, she focused on the pack bond, following the intense feeling to the source. Instantly, she was drawn into a vision: images flashed in her mind of Pansy arguing with her parents, culminating in her father striking her across the face. A low, feral growl rumbled in her chest as she pulled herself out of the vision, and without hesitation, she apparated.

Parkinson Manor towered over the expansive land, and despite it being morning, an oppressive darkness enveloped everything. The aura surrounding the manor made even Adelaide recoil, Although she wielded death magic, there were certain types of magic that even she wouldn't dare to confront. It was evident that the Parkinsons did not share that mindset. Adelaide could sense the wards surrounding the property, violent and eager to inflict harm. However, she was not like everyone else—she was the mistress of death and Lady Magic's chosen. No matter how malevolent the wards were, they would not be able to keep her out, especially with a member of her pack inside.

She walked through the wards, feeling as though cold mucky water had poured all over her but as she stormed down the path towards the manor itself, the feeling faded away. She knew the Parkinsons had sensed her intrusion, especially since confusion and panic were pouring through the bond from Pansy.

"Calm yourself, it's me" She whispered through the bond, her lips twitching as the emotion coming from her Slytherin friend shifted to one of happiness, relief but also confusion.

Adelaide was somewhat surprised by the dark curse associated with the wards of the building. However, as she channelled her magic into it, she couldn't help but scoff when the ward snapped like a twig, granting her entry. With a wave of her hand, the large oak door swung open with force and she stepped inside, Her heeled boots clacking on the polished floor echoed through the spacious and empty foyer. There stood Lord and Lady Parkinson, their dark eyes filled with fury as they sneered at Adelaide in disgust.

"You! How dare you enter our home, contaminating the air with your disgusting Muggle blood" Lord Parkinson hissed, his hand shaking from anger as both he and his wife pointed their wands at her.

"I'm pureblood, you cretin—" Adelaide rolled her eyes, already feeling bored with the interaction. "And if anything, my blood is purer than yours. Aren't you two like, cousins or something?"

The couple blinked, their mouth opening and closing while their faces turned a concerning shade of purple. Adelaide took great pleasure in seeing Lord Parkinson lose his composure, the vein in his forehead pulsing out of his head as his wand hand shakes even more. Lady Parkinson held an unattractive sneer on her face and Adel wondered where Pansy got her beauty from, because it sure as fuck wasn't from her parents.

"Anyway, where's Pansy?" She asked, becoming inpatient and walked past the couple, ignoring them screaming out her name.

"Stop right there! Expelliarmus!" With a lazy wave of her hand, the charm sent her way by Lord Parkinson stopped mid-air and redirected into the closest wall, causing the portrait to rip and fall to the floor.

Looking over her shoulder, Adelaide shook her head in mock disappointment. "I expected more from you, Lord Parkinson. At least give me something with a bit more... pizazz"
