Short but somewhat playful chapter. I wanted to get one out and I realised that there aren't many fun, playful interactions between the characters so I most certainly will start including some in the future. The next few chapters will involve the changes within the wizarding world and I'm rather curious if you had any suggestions on what you'd like to see change.
Anyway, I hope you are all enjoying the story so far and I'm thankful that you're being patient with me. I've been having some health problems recently so I haven't had much time to upload, but hopefully that'll all be sorted soon.
Remus was walking down the corridor, his mood soured with annoyance after just leaving the headmaster's office. The old man was desperate, using Remus' past resentment toward his condition to manipulate situations to his advantage. When he realised his plan wasn't working, he even resorted to sending spells and compulsion charms his way, the protection on his ring preventing any harm from coming to Remus. Fawks' loud outraged squawk had turned Dumbledore's attention and Remus used that as an opportunity to escape the office, ignoring the headmaster calling out his name and demanding his return.
Remus should have anticipated a summoning, considering that the old man had no right to have Adelaide alone in his office. As her only parental figure nearby, the headmaster would certainly demand his presence before involving anyone outside the castle walls. The old coot had spent a good half hour demanding answers about the article released that morning, as well as the detentions imposed on certain members of the pack.
The article was nothing short of a masterpiece. It details, in vivid and unsettling fashion, Dumbledore's upbringing and his close relationship with none other than Grindelwald. The shocking revelation that the so-called leader of light had once been in love with and involved with a dark lord left everyone stunned. Moreover, it exposed Dumbledore's belief that wizards were inherently superior to Muggles in every way. The phrase "For the greater good," which Dumbledore continued to use, was originally coined by the two of them to justify their disdain for Muggles and Muggle-borns. Of course, he knew Adelaide was behind said article and felt nothing but pride for his darling cub, but he only wished she could have told Skeeter to release the article when he was not working at the castle.
Remus arrived at his office and slumped back in his seat, running his hands through his hair tiredly. While he no longer has issues with the full moon — having full control and no pain, he still became fatigued and cranky a few days before as his body prepared for the transformation. Upon his desk was a file filled with correspondents between himself, the original communication mirror creator; Stewart Yan and a muggle-born witch called Cecilia Warren who will be working under Arthur Weasley at P & B INC. Remus checked the time, noticing that detention starts in a few minutes and now regretted taking over from Minerva.
"Honey, I'm home" A voice called from the classroom downstairs, prompting Remus to chuckle and shake his head before standing up to leave his office. Stepping out onto the small balcony, he looked down and saw Draco, Blaise, Theo, Ron, Enzo, Neville, Marcus and Adrian standing as if they owned the room. He had noticed that the pack had an energy about them that commanded attention and respect, especially Adelaide, who truly exuded the aura of an alpha.
"Must you always make a scene, mister Nott" Remus called out with a professional tone, making the Italian wizard smirk with a shrug of his shoulders.
"Sì, Uncle Moony. You'd feel lost without my dramatics" The werewolf scoffed under his breath and gestured for the group to take a seat.
"Someone going to tell me why Mister Prince arrived in the hospital wing with bunny ears, a rat tail and boils on his skin? Oh... let's not forget the broken nose"
"He touched our girl" Blaise announced casually as he leaned back in his seat and propped his feet onto the desk. (I know the chairs don't necessarily have a backrest but... they do now 🤣)
