6- An Addition to the Family... Or Not

“Oh, nothing.” I said, trying not to blush.

“Liar.” Blakely retorted.

“I am not!” I yelled back. The bus got silent, but it was a good thing that we just pulled up to the school. We all grabbed our bags in silent. I walked into the locker room and put my stuff down. Then I turned to Layla and asked who was bringing us to Red Mango.

“Isn’t Blake driving us?” Layla responded.

“Oh, oh yeah.” I said, I guess I’m not really in the right mindset to be going to Red Mango with the girls. “I-I think I should head home.” Layla looked at me like I was crazy.

“What are you talking about?! You’re about to go hang out with Niall Horan! And One Direction! What do you mean you want to go home?” She yelled, pretty loud too because it aggravated my headache. While she was yelling, Amelia and Blakely walked in the room.

“Why do you want to go home?” Amelia asked, sitting next to me on the bench. I looked up at her with worry in my eyes. 

“I have a massive headache, and I don’t know. Something doesn’t seem right.” I responded.

“Like what?” Blakely now sat next to me, rubbing my back. I really needed that right now.

“I-I don’t know. I just, I feel like I need to go home.” I looked her in the eyes. She looked right back into mine. Layla sat on the bench across from mine.

“Are you sure you don’t want to come with us Skye? It was supposed to be a special day, with the four- 9 of us.” Layla said. Oh yeah, I forgot about the boys. I can’t upset them! 

“Alright, I guess I have to go now. I can’t upset the boys.” I weakly smiled while responding. The girls all smiled and Blakely patted my back. The girls all got up, grabbed their stuff and paused. 

“Skye, you coming?“ Amelia asked, I nodded. While they walked out the door, I checked my phone noticing a voicemail. I put the phone up to my ear and heard my mom’s voice; it was so raspy, I could barely understand her. 

“Skylar, are you back yet? I-I have something to tell you.” She kept stuttering and sobbing between words, yet I couldn’t tell if she sounded joyful or depressed. “Skye,  I never told you about this, but I’m pregnant.”
