I had to tell someone about this, but who? I couldn’t tell Layla because I already told her he was just a friend. Should I tell Niall? Would it hurt his feelings? I should, though, right?
I pulled out my phone and dialed Amelia’s number and after a few rings, she answered. “Skye?”
“Mel? Can I tell you something, then ask for advice?” I asked her, and I probably sounded nervous.
“Yeah, of course! Shoot.” She told me, then became quiet waiting for an explanation.
“Well, while Greyson was at my house today, he kissed me.” I blurted out.
“WHAT?!” She yelled into the phone, so loud that I had to remove it from my ear.
“Uh, yeah.” I paused, waiting for a response. “I didn’t do anything back though, or at least I tried not to.”
“Have you told Niall?” She asked me.
“Not yet, should I?” I asked her back, with a concerned tone.
“Trust is key, Skye. Tell him.” She told me.
“Thanks so much Mel, you’re amazing.” I told her, “Oh, and could you not tell anyone?” then hung up the phone. I immediately dialed Niall’s number. No answer. I guess I’ll wait until tomorrow to tell him.
The Next Day
I had a long day at school, because I just couldn’t stop thinking about Greyson and Niall. Tonight was the fencing dinner, and I hope this wasn’t going to ruin it. When I got home, I checked my phone. I had a missed call from Niall, so I called him back. “Niall?” I asked, again with a concerned tone.
“Babe! I’m so sorry we couldn’t talk yesterday, my phone d--” I stopped him and confessed what had happened.
“I’m sorry, too. Not about that though, that’s okay.” I told him.
“W-what are you sorry about Skylar?” He sounded concerned as well. “C’mon, you can tell me anything.”
“That’s the thing, I don’t know how to tell you.” I tried to explain. “Well, you see. A good friend of mine came over yesterday, and things didn’t necessarily go as planned.” I began to confess.
“Go on.” He said, his accent thick, and I did as told.
“He kissed me.” I blurted out, and there was a pause. “Ni?” He hung up the phone. I felt a tear fall down my face. No, this can’t be happening. After a minute of silently crying, the phone began to ring. It was Harry this time.
“Skylar? Can I talk to you?” His accent spoke.
“Y-yeah, what’s going on?” I managed to say.
“Niall’s pretty hurt, if you couldn’t tell.” He paused, “He hasn’t stopped crying since the news.”
“Neither have I Harry, could I talk to him?” I asked, hoping for a yes. There were a few mumbled noises from the phone, then I heard talking.
“Sky--” I cut him off.
“Niall, I’m really sorry about what happened. I didn’t kiss him back though, please believe me.” I blurted out.
“So you don’t have feelings for him?” He asked me. Well, I can’t really say that…
“Not the type of feelings I have for you.” I told him, “Trust me.” Well, I’m not lying.
“I’m sorry for freaking out on you Skye.” He explained to me, and I said the same back to him. “Now about that dinner tonight, what time do we have to be there?”
“It starts at 7, so like 6?” I told him.
“We’ll be at your house 6 o‘clock sharp.” He said, then hung up the phone. After making up with Niall, I called Amelia to tell her the good news. She told me she was happy for me and that she’d see me at the dinner soon. I checked my phone, it was 4:27 PM.
I took a shower, then got ready and by the time I was finished it was almost 6 PM. I grabbed a jacket this time, my phone, and walked out the door just in time for the boys to pull up.
