63- Bye Bye Blakely

“Good morning beautiful!” I heard Niall whisper through the phone. 

“Good morning handsome!” I whispered back as I sat up in bed. It was my first day back at school since the stroke back in April. I checked the calendar, it was June 9th. “One more day until my birthday Ni!” 

“Really? I’ve got to get you something amazing.” He told me.

“You don’t need to get me anything, I’ve already got something amazing.” I told him, then opened my drawers to find something comfortable to wear.

“What’s that?” He asked me.

“You.” I told him, then smiled. I pulled Niall’s sweater over my head then put on a pair of jeans, it was cold and rainy out today, so I could dress warm. “So what are your plans for the day babe?” I asked him, then walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth.

“Well you’ve got school, so that ruins what I want to do.” He joked with me. “Babe, I’m kidding.” He laughed harder than before. “Well the boys and I have an interview with News 12 again today, so that’ll take up a few hours. Especially since we’re performing.”

“Oh, cool! What song are you guys performing?” I asked Niall, as I threw my backpack over my shoulder and kissed my family goodbye as I walked out to Blakely’s car. “Hey guys!” 

“We’re actually performing the song you wrote for Layla.” Niall gave me the news, but I just sat there, shocked. “Are those the girls? Good morning girls!”

“Skye, what’s wrong? Hey Niall!” Amelia asked me, as my face was struck still.

“The guys are performing my song on News 12 today.” I told them.

“That’s awesome!” Layla looked at me through the mirror. 

“Y-yeah, awesome.” I told them, then remembered I was on the phone with Niall. “Hey, sorry.”

“It’s alright, oh and Simon wanted to know what the name of your song was. So that we can tell everyone who asks, and trust me, there’s been thousands of questions about you and your song.” Niall informed me.

“Oh, sorry. It’s called ‘I’m Here For You.’” I told him, then noticed we were in the school parking lot. “Hey babe, we’re at school, call me later?”

“I will, love you babe, have a good day back!” Niall told me, then hung up the phone.

“Ready for you first day back?” Blakely asked me, as we all walked in the door.

“Hey at least there’s only two more days until the weekend!” Layla informed me.

“And Friday is Prom!” Blakely eagerly stated.

“Are you going with Zayn?” I asked her, just as the bell rang for first block.

“Of course!” She told me, then we all separated to our lockers. After walking down the sophomore hallway with Amelia, I noticed my locker was covered in notes and letters from all of my friends at school. 

They all said “Welcome Back!” and “Missed You!” I couldn’t help but blush, then I saw Riley walk up to my locker. “Hey Skye!”

“Hey Riles! Did you and Isabel do this?” I asked my friend.

“Yes we did.” Isabel told me, approaching my locker. “Do you like it?”

“Well I told you I’d hate you if you did this… but I’m glad you did, it’s nice to know how appreciated I am here.” I told them, then pulled them both into a hug.
