SKYLAR’S POV
“Rise and shine beautiful!” I heard my favorite Irish accent call. I looked up and saw Niall sitting on top of me, a big smile plastered onto his face.
“Good morning Nialler!” I smiled back, then he helped me out of bed. “What’s the plan for the day?”
“Chocolate chip pancakes, some baking, maybe a movie, then off to the boardwalk for some rides.” Niall told me, then smiled. “Sound good?”
“Sounds great!” I smiled back and we walked downstairs. We walked into the kitchen of the shore house and I plopped down onto the barstool at the kitchen island. Niall opened the pantry and found all the ingredients to make pancakes. He turned the stove on after creating the mix. After about a half hour of cooking, Niall had made enough pancakes to fill us up, and we both sat at the counter eating and talking.
We talked about whatever was on our mind at that very moment. Whether it be about Liam, or a story from when we were five. Niall and I could talk about anything and I loved that. It was just beginning to rain, so when Niall and I finished talking, we were relaxed by the pitter patter of the rain. When we finished eating, I took the dishes from Niall and I washed the dishes. “What would you like to do now?” I asked him.
“Hmm. Well it’s raining, so how about a scary movie?” He asked me, then sat on the couch to pick out a movie.
“Sounds awesome, you pick.” I told him while finishing up the dishes. I turned the water off and placed the plate on the drying rack. Then, I walked over into the living room and sat right next to Niall, who had put his arm around me.
“This looks good, ‘The Uninvited’.” Niall read off the description of the movie, then when we both agreed it looked good, he clicked on it. The lights were off, the sky was filled with dark clouds, and I was protected under Niall’s arms. How much better could this be?
Whenever I jumped from the movie, Niall’s arms were pulling me in closer, letting me know he was there to protect me. The movie was finished, but the rain was still occurring. “Let’s bake a cake!”
“What kind of cake?” Niall asked me.
“Red velvet.” I answered, licking my lips. Red velvet was my favorite cake, like ever. I had it every year for my birthday. Niall went into the pantry and got out the box of cake mix.
“Alright, you’re helping me this time.” He smiled at me, pouring the cake batter into a bowl. “Could you get the oil?” I nodded and did as he asked. He measured out the amount needed and I poured it into the bowl. We finished pouring in everything needed, and next was to mix the batter.
“Could I mix it?” I asked him, and he nodded, then walked around the counter to the other side, which is where he sat down and watched me. “Don’t get used to this, babe.” I joked with him. Layla was the real cook of the house, plus I can’t cook many things, so I just let her take over.
After a few minutes of mixing, Niall asked me how it tasted. “Looking good, babe. You’re a real pro. How’s it taste?” Instead of giving him a spoonful, like a normal girlfriend, I took a small handful of the cake batter and threw it at him.
“I don’t know, you tell me.” I laughed after throwing it. I couldn’t tell if this angered Niall because he had a smug look on his face and he was coming closer to me. “Ni?” Niall was now standing right next to me, still covered in cake batter.
“It’s pretty good, want a taste?” He asked me, then shoved cake in my face. At this point, I knew he wasn’t mad, so we ended up throwing cake everywhere. After we finished the bowl, we were covered in cake batter. It was in our hair, on our face, and all over our shirts and hands.
