“Babies? There’s more than one?” I was so confused, yet excited at the same time.
“Yes, your mother was going to have triplets,” she paused, “you didn’t know?”
“I didn’t even know she was pregnant until yesterday!” I was so happy for her, but yet so ashamed that she didn’t tell me. I’m going to be an older sister, to triplets! This is amazing! “Wait, what happened to the babies?”
“Not all the babies, um,” she started to choke up, “not all the babies made it through the accident.” I felt the tears streaming down my face. I had three baby siblings, but now I don’t know if any of them are still alive.
“Wh-what do you mean? Do I have baby siblings, or… or not?” I cried, I wouldn’t be able to live knowing my baby siblings didn’t survive the crash.
“You do have baby siblings. You have a baby brother, and a baby sister.” She gulped after finishing.
“But, you said she was supposed to have triplets,” I froze, “what happened to the other baby?”
“I’m sorry Skylar, but the third baby did not make it through. the. crash.” She paused with every word. I could tell she was heartbroken trying to tell me. That’s when I just broke down. She ran over and hugged me. It wasn’t the hug I needed though. I needed Niall’s hug. Niall! I have to tell him the news!
I pulled away from her hug and shoved my face into the pillow. My mom was going to have triplets, but only ended up having twins surviving. “Could I have some time alone?” I tried saying, but Amber knew what I was trying to say. She turned the lights off and shut the door after exiting. I laid down, closing my eyes, an drifted off to sleep.
I was awoken to a familiar voice. Mom.
