"What the fuck. When is this plane landing already?"
"Karlie, it's a 9 hour trip to Nashville. We still have three hours to go. It's gonna be 4am when we land anyway. You're not planning on going to the apartment are you?"
"Lily, where else would I be going? I need to talk to Taylor. I need to apologize and fix things. I'll be right back."
As Karlie got up to go to the bathroom, Lily looked over at Behati and said, "I don't think she realizes the magnitude of what happened between her and Taylor. This isn't something that can be fixed with flowers or a gift of some sort. Karlie really screwed up and I don't think she realizes just how much."
"I think you're right Lily. She better apologize in like fifty fucking languages. Taylor must be devastated. I just can't imagine how hurt she must be."
                              "I know Behati, I know."
When Karlie returned to her seat, she put in her earbuds and just closed her eyes, trying to figure out what she was going to say to her wife. She feared that Taylor wouldn't accept her apology but she was most fearful that Taylor would leave her.
The hours had passed and the plane was now landing. Karlie's nerves began to take over. Her hands were trembling and her palms were sweaty. She couldn't seem to relax, no matter how much she tried.
"Kar, are you sure you want to go to the apartment right now? Maybe you should come to my house and see Taylor when you're both well rested."
"No, Lily. I have to do this now. Thank you for everything, as usual."
"If you need anything, call me."
Karlie got a cab and headed to their apartment.
She stood at the door, taking deep breaths, not knowing what to expect but hoping for the best.
Karlie slowly opened the door and walked inside. The apartment was completely dark except for the glow of light that was coming from their bedroom.
Karlie stood in the doorway and watched her princess sleeping peacefully. She wanted so badly to get in bed with her and hold her but she decided not to. Instead, she went in the living room and laid on the couch. She laid there for what felt like hours, staring at the ceiling until sleep finally took over.
A few hours later Taylor woke up and wanted to make a cup of tea. As she walked in the living room, on her way to the kitchen, she saw Karlie on the couch. She took a moment to just stand there, not having much of a reaction. Slowly, she approached her wife until she was standing over her. Feeling a presence looking at her, Karlie began to rub her eyes,  focusing them on the tall blonde standing in front of her.
Karlie stood up and just stood there, staring at her wife. "Taylor I'm sorry." Karlie said as she stepped towards Taylor to hug her.
The singer jumped at her touch and pulled away frightened. "Don't touch me."
Karlie was shocked at her reaction as she watched Taylor take more steps away from her.
"Baby, I'm sorry. I said so many things I should have never said. Taylor, I'm so sorry. I should have never yelled at you. I was angry and being stupid. I didn't know what you had to deal with last night, with Martha and Toni. I'm so proud of you to have held your own and be so confident. I know that probably wasn't easy, but you did it. I feel like I'm babbling right now. It's just... I didn't want anything to happen to you by coming here and talking to Abigail by yourself."
By this time, tears are streaming down Karlie's cheeks.
"I didn't know what I'd do if something happened to you. I should have trusted you and I didn't. I was wrong. I just wanted to protect you. Please forgive me."
Again, Karlie took a step towards her wife to try and hug her but Taylor again, moved back.
"Are you afraid of me? Taylor? Are you afraid of me?"
Karlie's tone became a little louder as Taylor backed up again.
"I want you to leave." Taylor said.
"Taylor, please. I am at your mercy right now."
Karlie fell to her knees while looking at her wife, as the tears streamed down her face.
"Tay, I am so sorry. I don't know what else I can possibly say or do to make it up to you."
"Get out Karlie. I don't want you here. You need to leave."
Tears began to roll down Taylor's cheeks as words she thought she'd never say we're coming out of her mouth.
In a shaky voice, the singer said, "You have no idea what you've done to me. I want you to leave and I don't want you to come back. I can't be with you right now."
"Are you leaving me Taylor? Baby? Are you leaving me?"
"Karlie, I don't know what I'm doing right now. All I know is that you said some really hurtful things to me, things I never thought you'd say. I just never thought... just leave. Please."
Taylor turned around and walked back to their bedroom, closing the door and locking it behind her.
The model continued to just stand there in a state of shock. She knew Taylor would be angry and maybe she would give her the cold shoulder and not talk to her for a few days. But she never thought her worst fear would actually be coming true. She realized that Taylor was actually questioning if she wanted to be with her. Karlie put on her shoes, grabbed her bag and left.
Hours had gone by since Karlie left the apartment. Lily hadn't heard from her and thought maybe Taylor chose to forgive her sooner than she anticipated. She decided to check in and give Karlie a call, just to make sure everything was ok.
The phone rang and rang, but there was no answer. She thought it was kind of odd that Karlie wouldn't answer, just to say, 'Hey everything is ok,' at least. It was a little unsettling for her, so she called Taylor.
                              "Hello?"
                              "Taylor?
                              "Yeah, hi Lily."
"Hey, I'm not trying to intrude but I tried calling Karlie and didn't get any answer. I just wanted to make sure everything was ok. It's been a crazy 36 hours for both of you and the plane ride wasn't exactly the best with her. I don't need details, but are you guys ok?"
                              "No. I kicked her out."
                              "Oh."
Taylor seemed so cold right now. This wasn't the same woman that Lily has known for the last year and a half. This was someone different. This was someone who was so hurt that it was almost as if, they were just numb and couldn't feel anything anymore.
"Taylor, I don't know what is going on in your head and I'm sure you need time. I heard some of the things Karlie said and I know those words must have killed you inside, but please don't forget that she loves you so much. I'm not justifying anything she said but, just don't forget that ok?"
"Lily. I have to go. I appreciate you calling. I know I've told you this before, and I'll tell you again. You've been an amazing friend to both of us. We are both very lucky to have you. I'm gonna go now. I'll talk to you soon."
                              "Ok. If you need anything...."
It was too late... Taylor had already hung up.
