Morning came soon and the house was eerily quiet. Taylor hadn't left the bedroom with her mom. Austin and Scott were in and out, checking in on the two of them while Tracy was downstairs feeding the baby, talking to Karlie.
"Are you gonna go up there anytime soon?"
                              "No." Karlie replied.
"Kar, I know it's difficult but you can't take it personal. Taylor isn't being herself right now but she still needs that support from you."
"I know mom. I'm not angry with her, I just don't know what to say. I want to see her and make sure she's ok, but...."
"But nothing Karlie. Go up there."
Karlie made her way to Andrea's bedroom. She saw the door slightly opened and gave a gentle knock before walking in.
"Hey babe, why don't you come downstairs and have something to eat."
"I'm not hungry." Taylor replied hardly audible.
"Tay, you have to eat something, what would you like and I'll bring it up to you."
"I SAID I DON'T WANT ANYTHING, LEAVE ME ALONE!" Taylor said in a loud whisper.
Karlie walked out of the bedroom as Andrea's eyes began to open.
"I'm sorry for waking you mom."
Andrea slowly opened her mouth as Taylor leaned in close. "Don't....hurt.....her."
"Mom, I should have been here with you, not with Karlie and I wasn't and I'll never forgive myself."
Taylor leaned close again as Andrea said, "Stop....it's....not......her......fault.......don't.....blame.....her.....she.....loves.......you."
Karlie returned to the kitchen and sat opposite her mom at the table.
"Well, that went well. My wife hates me."
                              "No she doesn't Karlie."
"Mom, she does. She hasn't even looked at her own daughter. She hasn't picked her up, cuddled with her, fed her. If she's pissed at me, then fine, but why take it out on Mikayla? She didn't do anything to her."
"Karlie, I know it may not make any sense to you, and you're right, Mikayla didn't do anything to her. Just give her time and continue to support her whether she wants it right now or not. Eventually, it'll be you she turns to."
"Why don't you bring the baby to see Andrea. I'm sure she'd love to see her." Scott said.
The model nodded as she picked up the little one from her bouncey chair. "Come on bean, let's go see grandma."
Karlie returned to the bedroom and walked inside as Andrea and she met eyes. "You have a visitor." She said as she sat on the edge of the bed with Mikayla. Andrea extended her arm as Karlie placed the baby closer. A small smile came over her face as the baby moved her arms up and down really fast. This action caused a chuckle out of Taylor who then sat up and looked at Karlie. "Can I hold her?"
"She's your daughter, of course you can."
Taylor cradled the baby in her arms as she began to cry. "Mommy is sorry for not seeing you yesterday, Mikayla."
The baby had no idea what she was saying but just looked at her and kicked her feet.
"I'll leave you guys alone. Just yell for me when you want me to come back and get her." Karlie said as she began to leave the room.
