"Hey Selena, come on in." Taylor said as she opened the door.

The two embraced in a hug as Taylor led the way to the kitchen so her friend could say hello to her parents.

"Hi Selena, it's nice to see you." Andrea said.

"It's nice to see you both as well. Ok, Taylor, I can't wait any longer. Where is she?"

"Come on, she's upstairs. She was starting to move around, so she may be awake now."

As they entered the room, Taylor put her finger to her lips, so that Selena didn't say anything. "Listen to her talking." Taylor whispered as the two listened to the baby making gurgling sounds to her stuffed animals. The two began to walk a little closer to the crib as Taylor now came into view of the baby.

Mikayla began to smile and kick her legs as she saw her mother. "Hi my big girl. Do you want to get up?"
Taylor picked her up and showed her to Selena before placing her on the changing table to change her diaper.

"Taylor, she's gorgeous. Oh my God, hurry up and change her so I can hold her."

Taylor placed the baby in Selena's arms as the two of them sat on the couch. "Hi Mikayla. You're so pretty. Look at her eyes, they're so green. She's such a happy baby. You must be just over the moon with her."

"Absolutely. She's so good. I just love her so much. You ought to see Karlie with her. This is Karlie's pride and joy. The way Mikayla reacts to her voice is amazing. I don't know if it's because Karlie talked to her so much when she was still in my stomach, but she definitely knows Karlie's voice. If she's crying, Karlie can calm her right down."

"How is Karlie? You said she's in France?"

"Yeah, she's doing a promotional tour for Nike. She's good. She hates being away from us, but she'll be home soon. At least that's what I keep telling myself. If you don't mind me asking. Why has it taken you so long to come and see the baby?"

Selena glanced down at Mikayla briefly and then looked back at Taylor. "Honestly? I didn't really think you wanted me here. I mean, even though Karlie and I kinda made up at the baby shower, I knew she was only doing that because of you. I know she doesn't really like me anymore and I just felt like it was easier to stay away. Plus, I was a little upset with you."

"With me? Why?"

"Well, we've been friends for so long, a lot longer than you and Lily and I was a little disappointed that you asked her to be the baby's godmother. I just always thought that each of us would play that role for each other's kids. I don't know, I'm sure that sounds stupid, but it's really how I feel."

"It's not stupid Selena. Although I haven't known Lily as long as you, she has been an amazing friend to both Karlie and I. I'm sorry that I disappointed you, that wasn't the intention. I hope you understand."

Selena just smiled but said nothing else about the godmother selection. "Hey Tay, don't take this the wrong way but is your mom ok? She looks like she lost a lot of weight."

"Umm, I think I better feed the baby, before she gets fussy."

Taylor reached over to grab Mikayla but Selena grabbed her arm. "Tay, what's going on?"

Within a few seconds, Taylor began to cry. "My mom has cancer."

"Oh my God, Taylor, I'm so sorry. Why didn't you tell me?"

"It wasn't something my mom wanted broadcasted and we just wanted to respect that. Only the immediate family knows."

"Taylor, I'm so sorry. How's her treatment going?"
