*EPILOGUE *

It's been five years since Mikayla's first play date with her two best friends, Katie and Ryan. Since moving to St. Louis, the only time she gets to see them is during school breaks and in the summer, when the Swift-Kloss family returns to NY. Taylor couldn't pull her daughter away from her very best friends completely, especially knowing how she didn't have many friends herself growing up.

They were just a few days away before heading to the city. Mikayla was now eight years old and completing the third grade. Noah was five and quite the character, keeping both of his parents on their toes. He was completing kindergarten this year and was super excited about it.

The girls were also pretty excited to get back to the city. Scott had decided to stay in NY but moved out of his old apartment, leaving it to the newly married couple, Austin and Kimby. The two finally got hitched two years ago. It was a small wedding with only their closest family and friends. Scott downsized to a smaller place, not needing an enormous six bedroom home. Instead, he opted for a really cute three bedroom which was perfect for him but also big enough for when his grandchildren wanted to sleep over. Over the last couple of years, he met a really nice woman, named Claire who had lost her husband a while back. The two of them instantly hit it off and with the consent of both of his children, he began dating her.

"I cannot wait to see Maddie, Katie and Ryan this weekend." Mikayla said as she ate her cereal before leaving for school.

"Me too. I miss them but I miss pop pop the most." Noah replied.

"Hey mom, can Katie sleep over this weekend?"

"We'll see bean. I think we should spend the weekend with the family first and then she can stay over. I'm guessing she'll be at the house for most of the summer anyway. Go brush your teeth so Jim can take you to school."

"Does Sean still have to stay with me? It's embarrassing to have him just stand outside in the hallway all day and follow me to the bathroom."

"Bean, I'm sorry but he's not leaving your side. We've been through this before."

"Fine."

Karlie shook her head as her daughter brought her bowl to the sink and rinsed it before heading upstairs. She wondered where the time went. One minute she was a three year old who couldn't pronounce the letters 'R' and 'L' and now she has adult conversation, articulating her thoughts almost effortlessly.

"Hi mommy." Noah said as Taylor walked in the kitchen.

"Hey handsome, only two more days of school and then it's time to enjoy the summer. You excited?"

"Yup."

"Hey baby." Taylor stated as she greeted her wife with a kiss."

"Ewwww." Noah groaned.

"Listen peanut, I'll have you know that one day you're gonna be married and you'll be doing the same thing. So, I don't want to hear it." Karlie replied with a chuckle.

Noah got down and went upstairs to meet Mikayla in the bathroom before she finished. Every morning she would pull out the stool for him and place it by the sink so that he could step up and brush his teeth too.

"You excited Kar, to be going back to New York?"

"Hell yeah. That means alone time with you because you know your dad will want the kids at his place like everyday."
