Taylor and Karlie rushed to the hospital and met Scott and Tracy in the waiting room.

"WHAT HAPPENED?" Taylor said as she ran to her father.

"She was coming down the stairs for dinner and when she got to the bottom, she got dizzy and couldn't remember where she was. Seconds later she had collapsed. That's when we called for the paramedics to come. We got here about forty minutes ago. They took her in for a few tests, but they haven't been out yet to see us." Scott replied.

Tracy walked over to Karlie and motioned for the model to follow her a little further away from Taylor and Scott.

"I didn't want to say anything in front of Taylor, in case I'm wrong, but I think Andrea had a stroke. Karlie, she's a lot worse than she's letting on. She confided that to me the first night I got here. We sat up for hours in the living room and she basically said that she can feel her body beginning to shut down. She's just trying to be strong for her kids. Austin is on his way from St. Louis."

"This is so sad mom. I don't even know what to say to my wife. I just can't believe this is happening."

"Karlie, all you can do is just be there for her. You're not going to have the right words and that's ok. Just be her support."

The two walked back over as Taylor was crying on her dads shoulder. Karlie walked up behind her and placed her hand on Taylor's back, just to let her know she was there. The singer pulled from her dads embrace and turned to her wife, wrapping her arms around Karlie's waist as she quietly sobbed against the models chest.

They all took a seat on the chairs and just waited patiently. Karlie had placed a call to Lily, to let her know what was happening. She offered to extend her stay and watch the baby if they needed her too. Moments later a doctor came out to address the family.

"We ran a series of tests on Andrea which confirmed that she suffered a stroke. We have her sedated right now and she's sleeping. We won't know the extent of the effects until she wakes up.  Please understand that her cancer is extremely advanced. I'm not really sure how she's been able to carry on for the past month. She must be in a tremendous amount of pain."

"Will she ever be able to go home?" Taylor asked.

"Right now it's unlikely. Once we know more of the extent from the stroke, we'll be able to make the determination if she will need to stay here for hospice care or if she will be able to go home for that same care. If she does go home, she will need round the clock nurses. Our goal is to keep her pain free and make her as comfortable as possible. I'm sorry I don't have better news."

The doctor looked at Scott as he said, "If there are any family members that you would like to be here, I would make the phone call now."

Scott nodded his head as he wiped away his tears. "My son is flying in from St. Louis. There's no one else she would want here at this time."

The doctor nodded his head as he instructed the family to follow him to her room.

When they entered the private room, they saw Andrea lying motionless on the bed. Her eyes were closed and she had an IV feeding her pain medication. Taylor walked over and just collapsed on the bed, draping her body across her mother and resting her head on the side of her neck.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't here." Taylor said as she cried uncontrollably.

Scott stood on the other side of the bed, holding his wife's hand. "We're all here hun. We're not leaving you." The tears began to stream down his face as Karlie walked over to him and put her arm around his shoulders.
