Three days had passed since Karlie first went to New Beginnings. Each day she would arrive at 10am and help Gloria. Initially she had only planned on volunteering for a couple of hours but she was so amazed by the strength and courage of the women that she was meeting, that she'd stay for hours and hours, just to share their stories. The entire experience was incredibly humbling to her. These women were the real heroes who had the courage to get themselves out of bad situations. They did all they could for their children, to give them a better life, even if that meant having to start completely over with absolutely nothing.

Back at the resort, everyone was in the kitchen/living room area getting ready to venture out for the day.

"Mom, where's Karlie?" Kimby asked. "Every morning she leaves before most of us are awake and then she returns hours later but never says where she was all day."

All eyes were on Tracy, including Taylor's.

"Sometimes Kimby, we forget the important things in life and we need a real kick in the ass to wake us up and realize that our lives aren't nearly as bad as some other people's. Your sister is volunteering her time at a women's shelter, meeting people who are way less fortunate that she is. Women who had it all and lost it all in the blink of an eye. Your sister needs to put her own life into perspective and realize how truly blessed she is."

"What time is she coming back today?" Kristine asked. "I feel like she hasn't really been a part of this trip at all. She leaves in the morning, comes back whenever, goes for a run for like two hours and then has dinner with us and goes to bed. I mean, I thought this was supposed to be a family vacation? We leave the day after tomorrow and she hasn't done one fun thing with us because she's being so fucking stupid. We never see her as it is because we don't live in the same state. It just sucks, ya know?"

"Kristine, you're always more then welcome to come and visit us whenever you want." Taylor said.

"Yeah, if there's still an 'us'." Kristine mumbled as she walked away.

"Well, this is awkward." Kariann said. "I'm gonna go get Kristine and see if she wants to go shopping."

"Mind if Austin and I come?" Kimby asked.

"So I guess it's just the four of us." Andrea said. "What would everyone like to do?"

"I think I'm just gonna wait for Karlie to get back." Tracy replied.

"Why don't you and Andrea go have a spa day? Karlie probably won't be back for a few hours anyway. And I'd like to spend some time with my daughter." Scott said.

"Ok. That sounds good." Tracy replied.

Within the hour, Tracy and Andrea left for the spa as Scott and Taylor went on a private tour, checking out the volcanoes.

"So, what's your plan, Taylor?"

"Plan? About what, dad?"

"What's your plan with Karlie?"

"It's up to her. Nothing has changed for me. I love her with all my heart and I'll never stop loving her. I don't need to think about if she's the one I want for the rest of my life, I already know she is. I just want her to make sure that I'm the one she wants for the rest of hers."

"I'm proud of you Taylor. You've come a long way." Scott said.

Hours had passed as everyone was slowly making their way back to the resort. Karlie had been the first to arrive and was in the pool, leaning on the edge as she looked at the ocean.
