"It's 7:15pm, where is she? She knew dinner was at 7." Tracy whispered to Kristine as the whole family waited on Karlie to arrive.
"Did you try calling her mom?"
"I called her when she left the resort and asked for her to cone back, so we could talk. All she said was that it was between her and Taylor and that she needed to cool off. Then I called her about forty five minutes ago and she said she wasn't sure if she was going to make it to dinner. She said that she really wasn't in the mood of dealing with her wife right now. I'm not sure what's going on. They were fine just a few hours ago."
Austin leaned over to his sister as he whispered, "What happened exactly?"
"We got into a fight. And I told her to leave. So, she left."
"Taylor, are you ok? You don't even seem to be phased by this. Have you called her?"
"No, Austin, I haven't." Taylor replied in a sassy tone.
"Hey, sorry I'm late." Karlie said as she nonchalantly arrived at the table, taking a seat as if nothing happened. "Hey, you guys didn't have to wait for me. That buffet looks fantastic. Can we eat? I'm starving."
Everyone looked at one another, unsure what was going on exactly. Neither girl was acting themselves. Taylor is usually on edge and worried when they fight and Karlie leaves and yet, she was completely calm. Karlie usually wants to make up and showers her wife with hugs and kisses and yet she hasn't even acknowledged her.
"Yeah, let's eat." Andrea said with uncertainty in her voice.
The dinner started off quiet in the beginning.
"So, Kar, where did you go running?" Kimby asked.
"Just around the beach. I was told about this really cool area with a waterfall. It was so nice. Really secluded. You two should check it out. Definitely romantic."
"Well, that sounds nice." Kimby replied.
"Healani told me about it. She said she takes evening runs when she gets off from work and that it's a nice way to just clear her head and everything. She was right, definitely relaxing."
Taylor stabbed her fork into her chicken at the sound of Healani's name. She was so curious as to whether or not Healani actually went with Karlie or if she only gave directions to this location. The jealousy just ate away at her, but she refused to inquire about her wife's adventure.
"Hey Kar, you're still coming to that surfing class with us, right?" Austin inquired.
"Yeah, of course. Oh, Healani told me about a lagoon to go snorkeling. Let's do that tomorrow too. Should be loads of fun."
"Ummm, ok." Austin replied.
They all looked at Taylor, knowing that there was no way she could join in on the fun. This only reconfirmed how weird these two were acting. Under normal circumstances, Karlie would never do something that didn't involve her wife.
Dinner was over and it was now time to relocate to another area of the beach, to watch the entertainment. There was a mix of hula dancers, as well as, men doing a fire dance. Karlie and Taylor sat next to one another, but there was no conversation going on.
"Suddenly, Taylor leaned over and whispered sarcastically, "So, are you planning on telling me what happened or are you just gonna sit there smiling and acting like everything is fucking fine."
Karlie just sat there, ignoring her wife when Taylor leaned even closer.
"KARLIE?" She said in a loud whisper. "I'm talking to you."
"Oh I'm sorry. Were you saying something? I was mesmerized by the gorgeous half naked women that are dancing in front of me. Could you repeat what you said again?"
"You know what Karlie, FUCK YOU." Taylor said as everyone quickly looked over, putting all attention on the two of them.
Everyone's jaws dropped as they watched Taylor walk away.
"Karlie, are you gonna do something? Are you going after her? Tracy asked.
"What exactly do you want me to do mom? There's no talking to her right now. She got angry earlier, for, I'm not even sure what at this point. We were totally fine and then she thought I was getting hit on and everything just went crazy after that. She wants me to chase after her, to profess my love to her, but I refuse to do that. I didn't do anything and I'm always the one kissing her ass. So, let her be angry, I'm really over it. With that being said, I'm gonna leave and head back to the resort. If anyone wants to check in on her later, go for it because I won't be there."
Andrea and Scott didn't even know what to say right now. This behavior from both girls was so different from what they witnessed when they toured then country. Tracy, on the other hand, was pissed at her daughter. She stood up as Karlie walked away and yelled, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN, YOU WON'T BE THERE?"
But she received no response.
The door opened at the resort as Karlie made her way inside and to her bedroom. She heard the shower running and just proceeded to grab her suitcase. Pulling out all of the clothes she had just hung up earlier. When the water stopped running, she looked to the ceiling and just braced herself for the shit storm that was about to go down.
"What are you doing?" Taylor asked as she walked into the room.
"What's it look like?" Karlie replied with the same amount of sass as she had received earlier. "You made it really clear that you didn't want me here before and I'm sure you don't want me here now, so I'll just leave."
"Well, I don't want you to leave. I want to talk about this." Taylor replied.
"Oh, YOU, want to talk about it?" Karlie began to chuckle as she said, "Well, isn't that sweet that YOU want to talk about it. How fucking convenient. You didn't give a shit earlier when I wanted to talk. Well, now I don't give a shit about talking about it. I'm getting a room somewhere else."
At this point, Karlie threw her clothes in the suitcase as her wife stood there with tears coming down her eyes.
"Save it Taylor. Put the tears away. This is what YOU wanted."
Karlie began to wheel her suitcase out of the bedroom as she turned back and said, "I've done nothing but love you."
She then turned back around and left.
