Chapter 10

"I need a room please."

"Certainly Ms, for how many nights?"

"One person, seven nights."

"And a name?"

"Gillian Cameron." I replied to the receptionist.

"Do you have any bags that need bringing in?"

"No thank you." I shook my head and took the room key.

I gasped and sat up in bed, "It was just a dream, just a dream, just a dream." I repeated to myself.

"Cam?" Abby yawned and flicked on the bedside light.

"I was dreaming." I swallowed.

"What about?" Abby frowned.

"Last time I stayed here." I ran a hand through my shoulder length hair, "But it was only when I checked in."

"At check in they ask for a name." Abby stated.

"Gillian Cameron." I told her, "That's the name I used."

"If you used it here you might have used it elsewhere?" Abby suggested, "We can get Liz to do a search for it."

"Yeah, but not now." I looked to the clock, six hours and we would be at the bank, "Let's get some more sleep."

"Okay." Abby flicked off the light and lay down to sleep.

"Can you hear me?" I asked at exactly 9:10 as Abby and Bex walked in to the bank.

"Cam, remember it will go off when she gets in to the vault." Macey reminded me.

"Yeah."

"Madam." A gentleman said, probably to Abby.

"Ciao." Abby replied, "I wish to access my box?"

"Si, right away Ms." The gentleman told her, "Your daughter will have to stay here I am afraid."

"That's fine." Bex said, "I'll wait here, on this chair." I heard the rustle of fabric as Bex took a seat.

A few minutes later Abby thanked the man, "I will leave you alone for a moment." He told her.

I waited for Abby to open the box and say something like she had it. All I heard was a gasp.

"Abby?" I asked, "What is it?"

"I'm on my way out." Abby told me.

"You are finished?"

"Yes thank you."

"Back the way you came." The gentleman told her.

"Thank you." Abby hurried out of the bank with Bex at her heels as Macey reached the car.

"What is it?" I asked her as the three got in the car.

"When we're in the air." Abby told me, her face a shade whiter.

"Okay." I started the engine and sped to the airport.

"What was in the box?" Preston asked.

"A chip." Macey replied, "Long story."

But something told me that there hadn't been what Abby had expected in the box.

When the jet had leveled off and we were cruising somewhere over Italy I turned to Abby.

"Spill."

"There wasn't just the chip." Abby reached in to her pocket and took out some folded envelopes and a small black box, which I assumed contained the chip.

"Notes?" I asked.

"Only two people can access the box Cam." Abby whispered, "And I sure as hell didn't leave these notes."

"Are they dated?" Bex asked, leaning over the seat.

"Yeah." Abby nodded.

"When?" I asked.

"The most recent, last month." Abby finally looked up to me, "He's got to be alive Cam."

"Hang on." I stopped her and took an envelope, on the front was a date in typed writing and inside the note was also typed.

"We don't know if he wrote them." I told her, "Someone might be framing him."

"She's right." Macey nodded, "We would only know that it was her Dad is it was in his handwriting."

"But if they've been in the box, and Abby has been the only one to touch them besides whoever left them there," Preston suggested, "surely you can get them analyzed?"

"Exactly." Abby nodded.

"Liz is going to have a field day." I muttered smiling.
