Rachel
Chapter 29
It was amazing how quickly two months could go when you had two seriously sexy men distracting you.
We were messing about in an abandoned warehouse (For lack of something to do) both of the men had run off without me meaning I had to find them.
“Boys, this isn’t funny anymore!” I complained as I headed down another corridor looking for them.
I gasped and spun around as there was a hand on my shoulder.
Before I could register who it was they punched me to the floor and began to run. I went to follow them but froze as an explosion went off above me. Debris fell to the ground around me, some catching my skin and clothes, a lump flew in to my shoulder and sent me to the ground again where I blacked out.
When I woke up there was dust everywhere, I coughed and pushed away the rubble from my left arm and tried to sit up, only to find a beam pinning my legs down. I swore as I noticed the pool of red on my thigh and the pain began to set in.
“Matt!” I yelled, “Joe!” There was no response, I looked at the debris around me. A distinctive green box caught my eye, the white writing covered by a thin layer of dust. I reached out for it with my good arm. My finger tips were just centimetres away.
“Come on,” I shifted a little causing a pain to shoot up my left side, it was worth it to be able to reach the first aid kit.
Sitting up I held the arm that had been trapped to my chest, I could feel that my ribs were badly bruised if not broken.
Using only my good arm I removed my belt and threaded it under my bleeding leg. I knew how much it would hurt when I tightened the belt,
“On three,” I whispered to myself, one … two… “Three,” I screamed as I tightened the belt and cut off the circulation. I lay back on the floor so I could catch my breath, and I thought I imagined the shout of my name.
“Rachel!” The shout was closer this time,
“Here!” I shouted back, “I’m here,” My voice went weak as more pain shot through me.
Joe crouched by my leg as Matt came and held my face,
“What happened?”
“Someone punched me and then the explosion,” I tried to shake my head but Matt’s hands stopped me.
“You did the tourniquet?” Joe asked,
“I don’t seen anyone else here to do it,” I snapped at him. Joe ignored my remark and went to lift the beam, even I knew it would be too heavy for him alone. Matt was about to get up to help him when there was a second explosion nearby.
“Go!” I shouted at the two of them, they hesitated but them began to run, away from the blast, and away from me.
Something must have hit my head again, knocking me out.
Even in unconscious I could feel the aches running through my body as the men came back and rescued me. I could hear their every word and feel their touch, but I wasn’t specially aware, they could have been touching my hand or my foot for all I knew.
“How is she?” Joe asked Matt after a long while.
“She’s got a temperature,” Matt replied, “It must be infected.”
“Give her twenty four hours,” Joe replied after a pause, “If these antibiotics don’t help I think we will have to go to the school.”
I let myself drift in to deep unconsciousness as I heard the door close.
“…loves us both as much,” Matt was saying when I next came to, I could feel his hand on my cheek as he sat on the bed.
Joe took my other hand as he murmured, “She would never admit it though,”
“No,” Matt agreed, “But I’m happy to share her if you are?”
“I’d be more than happy to,”
I smiled at how they were getting on and they must have noticed.
“Do you recon that’s because she can hear us?” Joe chuckled,
“She’ll think she’s dreaming,” Matt agreed,
“You’re getting better Rach,” Joe told me as he squeezed my hand, as much as I wanted to I didn’t have it in me to stop them both from leaving. I knew that they needed to look after themselves as much as me so I relaxed and slept some more while they were gone.
