Chapter 48

I woke up when I was being lifted up by Zach, "Wha-" I moaned to him.

"Our lift's here." He smiled to me, it was still dark but the rain had stopped and there was only a slight breeze.

"I talked Joe in to coming to get you after before." Zach told me as we reached a large open space.

"How long was I asleep?" 

"Two hours." Zach kissed my cheek, "It's okay." 

"I'm sorry." I swallowed, "I... It all came back and... I panicked."

"I know." Zach set me down but held most of my weigh for me, "It's okay, I shouldn't have made you run."

"We had to." I shook my head, "What happened to Catherine?"

"She'll be looking for us." Zach hugged me a bit tighter, "I promise she won't touch you."

"I know." I smiled a little to him as a humming neared us.

"Here's our lift." Zach told me as the helicopter landed on the opposite side of the space.

"Any chance of a ride kids?" Catherine neared us from behind.

"Get away from them!" Joe yelled as he neared us from the other direction.

"Now now Joe, I only wanted to help Cammie remember some little details." Catherine assured him.

"You tried to destroy your own sisterhood Catherine!" Joe shouted, "For what!?" 

"Revenge!" Catherine yelled back, "For what they did to me!"

"Cam, get on the helicopter." Zach whispered to me, I nodded and began to limp away.

"Just remember Cammie!" Catherine called after me, "You gave me what your father didn't... He kept the secret, you gave it away."

I didn't turn around to face them as the world began to shake and I fell to the floor. I heard hurried steps near me as Joe told Catherine, "You'll pay for that.”

"Gallagher Girl." He helped me up, "It's okay, you're not weak."

"I need to sit down Zach." I sniffed and wiped my eyes as we stepped in to he helicopter. 

"She's right Zach, I gave it away."

"No, it's okay you were forced to." Zach knelt infront of my and held my hands in my lap as we talked, "They forced it out of you."

"I remember it all Zach, in just one day, they'd broken practically every bone in my, they'd used me as a human ash tray, they were going to electrocute me. But I broke, I told them I'd answer their questions." I sobbed, the pain I'd felt then now radiating all over my body.

"It's okay Cammie, it's okay." Zach hugged me tightly, holding the back on my head with one hand and the small of my back with the other.

"Cam," Joe came and knelt with us, "you're hurting aren't you?"

"I can remember it all Joe, I can feel it all." My words were muffled by Zach's shoulder.

"Liz has been working on a numbing injection, she's only tested it once but it seemed to work pretty well..." He trailed off as I looked up to him, "For now Cam, you're still in shock, you shouldn't be able to move your hand that you just wiped your eyes with, and Zach told me you had a badly sprained ankle that you shouldn't be able to walk on."
