Chapter 58

"Why did I agree to having you as a partner?" I sighed and Grant walked along an ally way with his back to the wall, in a way only amateurs would do. He had successfully transferred over the pond to be with me and now, more often than not, I was stuck with him as a partner.
"I'm not that bad!" Good, he was offended by what I said.
"No," I shook my head, "You're just a pain in the backside!"
He stopped and turned back to me, a grin forming on his face, "I'll show you a pain in the ass!" Before I could stop him he grabbed my waist and flung me over his shoulder.
"No!" I gasped and thumped his back, "Put me down Grant!"
"Nope," he grinned, "Not until I've broken your New Years resolution!"
I gasped and looked at the back of his head, he wouldn't I swallowed, would he?
Then again, it had been three weeks since Macey had told me that Cammie and Zach had done the dirty, what harm could it do for us?
Grant shifted me so I was cradled in his arms as he carried me in to the elevator that would take us up to our hotel room.
As he lay me down on the bed I began to panic, no I didn't want to do this, I wasn't ready. Grant went to pull my top up but I stopped him, "Grant, no!" I told him sternly.
He stopped kissing my neck and looked at me as if there was something on my face he hadn't seen before. Maybe there was, after all, he'd never seen me nervous or worried before. I was always the brave and confident one, never showing if I was frightened.
"You're worried?" He frowned, "Why?"
I bit my lip and turned my head away from him, why were we here like this? Why was I so worried about this?
Well, I had a scar on my shoulder from being shot, a - before I could finish the thought Grant interrupted me, "Stop worrying about what I might think and worry about what I do think," he kissed me gently.
"And what's that?" I raised an eyebrow.
"I love you," he murmured, leaning in to my neck and sucking on it gently, making me slowly relax until I let out a quiet moan.
"I won't do anything you don't want to tonight," He whispered,
"You're going soft, Grant." I giggled, as he kissed my cheek and added, "But I will break your resolution before this year is over!"
"I would like to see you try," I grinned at him.

I’d been out until the early hours, tying up the loose ends in a mission. Abby was already awake, I could hear her quietly cooing to Kim. I half opened my eyes, she was sat up on the other side of the bed with Kim in her arms. Everyone had always thought motherhood wouldn't suit Abby, hell, even she thought that she couldn't manage but two months in we were all confident that Abby was doing okay with her.
It was obvious she didn’t want to wake me, so Abby just sat there admiring our daughter without realising that I was admiring her.
When Abby finally glanced to me and saw I was awake she bit her lip and blushed, something I rarely saw unless she was wearing blusher (Which before she had Kim was quite often!)
