Chapter 54
A few weeks later I lay in bed with Zach, I'd slept peacefully through the night without any nightmares. I was watching him sleep, he looked so peaceful and relaxed. He'd been away on a short mission and had only got back late last night so I didn't want to wake him, but I really needed the loo.
I lifted his arm off my hip and rolled over so I had my back to him, "Where are you going?" A groggy voice complained.
"I'll be back in a minute," I smiled as I went. When I came back to the bedroom the bed was empty but I could hear the radio on in the kitchen and bacon frying.
"I thoughts we were staying in bed?" I accused Zach.
He turned to face me and started to apologise.
"It's fine," I sighed, "You need the work,"
Zach came and wrapped his arms tightly around my waist, "I'll make it up to you,"
"Don't worry," I kissed him, "It's my own fault for falling out of a plane."
Zach laughed but didn't deny it as hue replied, "I can't wait until you're back,"
"I've got physio today," I sighed, "I swear it hurts more while they do it than it hurt when I did it."
"You'll be fine," Zach smiled and turned back to the bacon, "Want some?"
"Go on then," I gave in to him, as I usually do.Zach left just before ten which gave me time for a shower before I had to leave for my physiotherapy appointment.
After my appointment I decided to drop by at the school to see my parents and Joe.
"Hey," I smiled to joe as I met him on the grand staircase, "how's the cheek?"
"Not bad thanks," joe laughed, "how are you?"
"Good," I nodded, "no nightmares last night so I think I'm finally getting better,"
"Don't get ahead of yourself," joe warned, "One night isn't enough to mean it is gone for good,"
"Yeah," I slowed down and sighed."Cam," mom called me.
"Hey mom," I smiled to her, "where's dad?"
"I don't know," she shrugged, "he wouldn't tell me."
"Classified," joe laughed next to me, I rolled my eyes and shook my head at him."Where's Zach?" Mom asked me.
"He left for a mission this morning and won't be back until late." I explained, "that will be the second night in a row though."
"Is that not a good thing?" Mom suggested, "He gets payed per hour so all this will be extra income."
"I know. But I'd rather him home," I forced a smile.
"You'll be back out there before you know it Kiddo," Mom smiled to me."What are we all taking about?" Dad asked as he came up behind mom, she frowned and looked over his shoulder, "Which way did you come in?"
"Kitchen, came up the east wing staircase," I replied before dad had even opened his mouth.
"She's quick," Dad commented.
"I've got to be," I shrugged, "Where have you been?"
"You'll find out soon enough," Dad had a wicked smile on his face as he spoke.
"I don't like surprises," mom grumbled.
"You'll like this one!" Dad smiled and kissed her cheek as she rolled her eyes.
"I'd better be getting on," I sighed and looked back down the stairs,"Are you staying here all summer?"
"No," mom shook her head, "We're going to the lake house in a week or two."
"That'll be nice," I forced a smile, "Ill see you later."
"Bye!" They all waved as I left.I sat back in my car seat and sighed, I had just had near to nine months holiday yet I felt more stressed than ever!
I went home and did some washing, it wasn't like Zach would ever do any, before I got some lunch, got my tablets, and sat to watch a film without really paying attention to it.
It was afternoons like this that I really did just want to curl up in to Zach's chest and do nothing. But Zach wasn't here. He was out somewhere doing things that would probably make me worry if I knew about them.
I yawned and closed my eyes for a second."Gallagher Girl?" I jumped up at Zach's voice.
"What are you doing back?" I frowned as I sat up and turned to him.
"It's half seven," Zach pointed out, "I finished only a little early!"
"I must have fallen asleep," I frowned and stretched.
"Did you have a good day?" Zach set his bag down and joined me on the sofa, pulling me over so my head was resting on his shoulder.
"Pretty boring," I admitted, "I must have been asleep for a dew hours."
"You did tell me that the tablets made you sleepy," Zach stroked my hair back and I felt myself drifting again, "You still have a lot of healing to do,"
"Yeah," I sighed and got up, "How's beans on toast for dinner?"
"I'll make it," Zach followed me to the kitchen.
"It's beans on toast," I smiled to him, "Not a three course roast!"

I lay in bed with Zach late that night, neither of us wanted to sleep, we were both content with each others company.
"It's been three years since we met," Zach sighed contently as he played with my now long hair.
"How long have we been dating for?" I spoke my thoughts.
"I don't really know," Zach chuckled, "We never asked each other out, it just sort of happened,"
"Not that I mind," I smiled and shifted against him so I could kiss him.
"I suppose it must be about one and a half years," Zach shrugged, "ish."We were both quiet for a while, comfortable in our own thoughts. I looked down his bare chest, toned and tanned perfectly. I bit my lip as I thought about his muscular arms and legs and how sexy he looked when he had just got out of the shower. As his hand trailed over my thigh I looked up to him, "Zach?"
"Hmm?"
"When do couples usually ...y'know ... Do stuff?" I mumbled. Zach smiled and pulled me so I was straddling his waist he sat upright and kissed my collar bone.
"I'm afraid you'll have to be more specific Gallagher Girl,"I bit my lip as his lips moved up my neck and sucked on the skin there, he knew exactly what I meant.
"Zach," I moaned.
"What do you want Cammie?" His voice was husky which made my stomach do a flip.
"To talk," I pulled back from him, reluctantly.
"Cam," Zach pulled me back to him, "You're not the only first timer in the room,"I wasn't surprised by what he said, we had talked before about his previous relationships which involved two girls of his age and a few heated kisses. Yet something in his voice made me realised that he was secretly as nervous as I felt.
(Now there's something you don't hear every day- Zachary Goode, nervous!)
I rested my head on his shoulder, "I trust you," I murmured.
"I'll look after you Gallagher Girl," He kissed my cheek, making them heat up a little, "Just 'cause I've not done it before Doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing,"
I laughed and smiled to him, "Why am I not surprised?"
"So do you want to?" Zach's hands played at the bottom of the long top I was wearing. I smiled and to his hands, pulling them up my stomach under the top as I leant in to his ear, "Yes,"
