black and white

you're world seems to be black and white
and who knows
because i know that seeing from an outside perspective is more often than not
not the whole story
so what is your story
why do you say the things you say about me
to me
breaking me down
fake building me up with your compliments
but if you had common sense you would realize
these compliments are empty
cause since i am me
i shouldn't need your validation of my body
of my features
of my life
and yet you give it to me anyway
because you seem to think
it will make me forget
about the other things that you say
the shit that keeps me up at night
the shit that makes me question my motives
my actions
my beliefs
but why should i?
being secure in myself is the thing i love most about me
so why does it bother me when you break down my beliefs?
my brother's confidence?
my sister's existence?
Because love me or hate me
despise what i say
i was your sister
i was there for you when there was no light
i was there for you when you're world was only black
no white
i listened and i cared and i empathized
i gave my adivce
i told you i had your back
because no matter who you are
i don't see in only white and black
you seem different now
more determined to prove something
that you don't need to
and you know that it makes me feel sad
for you, but i know you don't want my pity
so let me
tell you.
I will be here if you need me.
even if the surface of our coliding planets
seems to be covered by fire
seems that we could never combine
only combust
I will be here if you need a conversation
a distraction
a friend
even with all the poison that escapes your mouth
even with the hate you seem to possess
i know deep down you see in more than just
black and white
and i do hope you are feelin alright
because you're human
and the human emotions are far too complicated
to be litigated
so hear me when i say
i don't have hate for you
as much as i would love to
i am your sister if you need it
we can put down our weapons
i am willing to surrender
if you need a helping hand
because the world isn't just black and white
its a whole array of colors
