Harry walked into what was now known as the Hogwarts Wing at St. Mungo's, where everyone who had been injured in the Battle was being cared for, Karina included. Sirius James was in one arm, sitting on Harry's hip. Harry's other hand enclosed something very important.
He walked down the aisle until he reached Karina. She was sleeping, a huge patch on her forehead and bandages wrapped around her hands. She had a huge bruise on her right cheek, and her hair had been cut shorter than Harry's to have a large lump on the back of her head examined.
Harry didn't think he'd seen her look better in a long time.
"Mum." She stirred in her sleep. "Mum, we're here." He told her, coming around to face her. She opened her eyes slowly, and smiled when she saw the two boys.
"Hello, boys." Harry smiled back, and helped Karina to sit up, setting Sirius on the blanket next to her. "I'm glad you're here today, Harry." She told him. "I've caught wind that I'm going to be released tomorrow." Tomorrow.
"Perfect." Harry told her, before closing the curtains that surrounded her bed. "Because there are a few people who want to see you." Karina tilted her head.
"Who?" Harry smiled, before taking her hand, and placing a small stone in it. She gasped when she saw it. "Harry. Is this...?"
"I see you kept your front up." Came a voice she hadn't heard in almost seventeen years.
"James." She whispered, looking around at the five people who now surrounded her. "Lily." The red haired woman nodded, the smile never leaving her face. "Sirius." Sirius looked as though he was about about to cry. "Peter." Peter stood there, looking ashamed to be able to stand alongside his old friends. "Remus." Remus merely beamed at her. "You're all here."
"We never left you two." Lily told her.
"Our son is beautiful, Karina." Sirius told her. "He looks like his mother."
"But has his father and uncle's name." James and Sirius looked at the baby, not knowing this information. "James, Sirius, meet Sirius James." James snorted.
"Now there's a day someone named after me was called serious James." Sirius nudged James playfully, and Karina chuckled.
Harry stood by, watching the Marauder reunion. Karina was glowing with happiness at the sight of them. It was as if nothing in the world could have disturbed her. Harry knew he had made the right decision in bringing her the Resurrection Stone for a better goodbye.
