"We're all here for you, Dad." Alexander told Graham, Neese taking his hand.
"Its okay. Rest now, dear." But Graham shook his head.
"I can't." He wheezed out. "She's not here yet." Neese sighed, trying not to cry.
"I don't think she's going to be here, Graham." She whispered. "Its been ten years. I don't think she can be here." Graham lay his head back on the pillow. He had misinterpreted the Mirror before. Who said it couldn't have happened twice?
"Maybe you're right." He conceded, letting out a deep sigh. "Maybe, I'll see her, in the next life."
"Has the meaning of the phrase, "from the womb to the tomb, we stick together." changed at all since I've been gone?" Came a croaking voice, as the door creaked open, and there she was. She held a crooked, wooden cane, and her long dark hair was gray, but it was really her.
"Hova." Graham turned to her, his face breaking into a genuine smile, one that none of them had seen in a long time. "You came."
"Of course I did." She said, making her way over slowly, Alexander rushing over to help her sit on the bed. "I could feel the end was near, and had to come back, one last time." She lay her hand on his, and he turned it to grip hers tightly.
"I thought I would never see you again, Hova." she chuckled, ruffling his grey hair gently.
"Well, you made it clear I wasn't welcomed back in Daventry, and your health wouldn't have allowed you to leave, you old fool." He blinked, a few tears pricking his eyes.
"I'm so sorry that I made you leave, Hova." He murmured. "I should have never done that. Things were never the same after you left. I'm so sorry. I'm..." his words trailed off into a coughing fit, and Hova brushed his hair back.
"Shh, it's okay." She whispered, lying down next to him in her exhaustion. "I'm here now, and that's what matters, right?" He nodded, turning his head to look at his dear sister. She truly had always been there for him, even when he was so mad at her, he had declared he never wanted to see her again. Her words rang in his head every single day, her soul was patterned around the halls of the castle, and now here she was in their final moments.
