On Titan, the remaining members of the Guardians and Avengers collected themselves, unaware of the fate that fell upon their friends, and the fate that would fall upon them.
Mantis propped up Star Lord, Spiderman helped Tony to his feet, Aria helped Kim sit on a rock, and Drax and Nebula managed to limp over on their own.
But that was where it all began.
"Something... is... happening." Mantis murmured, before she faded away into dust, Drax putting his hands to his chest as he began to dissolve.
"Quill...?" Star Lord stared in horror as he began to disintegrate as well once Drax had blown away.
"Steady, Quill." Tony tried to help, but it was already too late.
"Aw, man." And Quill was gone, Kim jumping to her feet.
"Dad!" She shouted as Doctor Strange fell back onto her lap as she knelt down, turning to ash as well.
"Tony," he called, not even looking at Kim, who's eyes were full of tears, "there was no other way." And he faded away, a single tear from Kim's eyes falling onto his cheek just before he faded, and Aria stumbled.
"Dad?" Tony turned to her as she fell, Peter holding onto her, but he to was struggling. "What's going on?"
"Aria?"
"Mister Stark?" Peter murmured, falling to his knees with Aria in his arms. "I don't feel so good..." Tony ran over to the two of them, trying to be calm.
"You're all right." He murmured, trying to help them both stand, but Aria was already disintegrating.
"Dad... it hurts!" She cried, and Peter stumbled.
"I don't know what's- I don't know what's happening. I don't-" Peter fell into Stark's arms, clutching him tight and crying as Aria fell to the ground, both of them sobbing in pain.
"Peter no!" Kim ran over, as Tony clutched him tightly, pulling Aria closer, clutching her hand.
"I'm sorry, Daddy..." she whispered as she faded, the ash in Tony's hand the only thing left.
"Save me, save me!" Peter begged, already fading. "I don't wanna go, I don't wanna go, sir, please. Please, I don't wanna go. I don't wanna go..." Kim hugged him tightly.
"You're not dying!" She sobbed. "Youre not gonna go, please don't go!" She begged, but it was too late.
"I'm sorry." And Peter faded to dust in Kim's arms, Kim falling onto the ground sobbing as Tony held the ashes of his daughter in his hand, holding them close to his heart.
"He did it." Nebula muttered, seeing Thanos's victory laid out before them.
SKIP!!!
Nebula and Tony drove Star Lord's ship back to Earth, his tunes playing quietly somewhere with neither of them knowing how to turn them off. Kim had hidden away in one of the bedrooms, her seemingly endless sobs finally ceasing after almost three hours of crying.
But both Nebula and Tony worried for her. She was still young, too young to have to be caught in all of this. And now she had not only lost her boyfriend, she had lost her father as well.
"You should go and speak with her." Nebula finally said. "I can drive alone."
"Why should I go talk to her?" Tony demanded. "Why don't you go talk to her?"
"Because you understand young girls better than I do." She admitted. "You're a father who just lost his daughter. She is a daughter who just lost her father. I'm certain you two could make something of it." Tony was about to argue, but realized she was right. He and Kim were both stuck in a position that neither of them had asked to be in. The least he could do was go and talk to her.
He let Nebula take full control, and went back, peeking into each bedroom until he found her hiding in Star Lord's room, the furthest room away from where he and Nebula were. She was lying on the bed, curled into a ball, sniffling every once and a while, a large wet spot next to her. It was as if she had run out of tears.
He went over softly, and sat on the bed. She didn't move. He hesitantly put his hand on her shoulder, and she jumped up, grabbing his arm out of fear and trying to get him off of her.
"Stop! Its me!" He shouted, pulling his arm away, and she looked at her lap. "I was just coming to check on you." She just stared. "What? Not gonna talk to me?" She still said nothing, and he stood up. "Fine. Sit here and sob for the rest of your life for all I care." He headed for the door, and she turned away, laying back down, just as he stopped one more time to look at her. "Just know, we're in this together, kid, so you're either dead weight, or you're going to help us get rid of Thanos." He then headed out, going to shut the door.
"Do you think they feel it too?" She croaked just before he left the room.
"What?" He asked, coming back in.
"Your daughter, my dad, Peter. Do you think they're hurting as much as we are from being apart?" Tony hadn't thought about that either.
"They're dead." He said with a stony tone. "They aren't feeling anything." She shrugged.
"I think you're wrong."
"Excuse me?" Now he was getting irritated as he walked back over to her.
"I said I think you're wrong." She said again. "It didn't feel like they died. It just felt like... I don't know. Like they were taken away."
"That's kinda the point of death." He said, crossing his arms. "Their lives were taken away from them."
"Not like that!" She sat up, exasperated. "God, are you always this pessimistic?" She took a deep breath, though her hands were shaking. "I meant... it feels like Thanos sent them somewhere. Like they're here, but in a different world." Tony sighed. He didn't really understand what she was saying, but it did make him feel better, thinking about the others, maybe trapped, but safe in another world, together.
