That night, Oliver lie awake, unable to sleep. He had defeated Shadar. And yet he couldn't save his mother. Finally, he sat up in bed so that he could go outside, when he heard a small voice.
"Oliver?" He turned and saw Harmony lying on the floor next to Swaine. (They had agreed to Esther, Drippy and Oliver getting the bed because they were the smallest) "are you alright?" He nodded, but she came closer and looked into his eyes. His tear filled eyes. "Come with me, sweetie." She said, using the same name his mother always had. She pulled him outside, knelt beside him, and pointed to the sky, where he saw the stars of Aumtumnia for the first time. He gasped.
"They're so beautiful!" He said. She smiled.
"I know. A very close friend showed them to me not too long ago." He looked at her, and saw sadness in her eyes.
"Harmony, why didn't you tell us who you were?" She sighed.
"I didn't want to add to the danger. It was already a risk travelling with you, but I knew it was the only way to reach Shadar. Had I known..." she looked down at the ground, her hair tumbling over her face. Oliver sat next to her and wrapped his arms around her. "You're going to miss your mum, huh?" He nodded. "I will too. She was a fine lady, and a wonderful friend." Oliver sniffed, and Harmony held him closer. "It's okay to cry." And that's when it all came out. He cried onto the shoulder of a girl he had only just met a few weeks ago who had seemed so distant, but yet was as close to Alicia as he was. She rocked him back and forth. And while she did, she sang.
"Over hills, green as a springtime, chasing a lonely cloud white as snow.
Someday soon, I mean to catch it, hold tight and into the sky I'll go..." Oliver listened to the familiar song, remembering hearing it as child. His mother had a record of it that she played for him when he was sick. She sang for him a few times, but if she wasn't able to, she would just play that song, and Oliver had always wondered who the singer was. Now he knew. "If I could only be with you once more. And hold you tightly to my heart... we could walk, this road together, and never ever be apart. Your light will shine on every forest and field. On our journey to another world..." Harmony finished the song, and looked at the small boy in her arms. He smiled sleepily at her, and she wiped away any tears that were still there.
"Thank you, Harmony." He said, then he fell asleep. Harmony leaned against the clay building, unable to move without waking him, and she too dozed off.

SONG

"If I could only, be with you once more..." Marcassin sat up in bed and listened to the beautiful melody that floated into his bedchamber. The voice sounded so familiar, he named it right away.
"Harmony..." he whispered, leaning on his window sill, listening to it, feeling as though she was singing for him. "We will be together again, and I hope to sing with you." He whispered, before he slipped back into a deep sleep as the song ended.
