(You know, for as many chapters as I have already saved right here in this book, I'm sorely tempted to start writing Karina Potter, Aunt Marauder as a full book! I'm still struggling however to see what she would do as a whole while Harry's away at Hogwarts. I don't know, let me know if you all have any ideas. I might use what I've thought of that was originally going to be saved for when Harry's in his third year, but maybe it will be all of time. I don't know, let me know what you guys think! And speaking of what I have planned for Harry's third year...)
"... And Ministry officials say that they haven't found any evidence of Black's escape from Azkaban. However they shall not stop until they have found the criminal, and returned him to Azkaban." Karina walked in just as she heard this from the radio, and she dropped all of her packages from the grocery store. Harry, who sat in a chair listening, jumped up and ran to the kitchen to grab a dishtowel, as milk spilled from the broken bottle.

"Who were they talking about?" Karina asked, her breath short as Harry mopped up the milk. "They said Black, Black who?" Harry looked at her, almost afraid to tell her.
"His name is Sirius. Sirius Black." Karina nearly fainted. He was free. Sirius was free! She hurried to the telephone in the kitchen and dialed the one number she was sure to get in the wizarding world.
"Remus? Remus, its me, Karina." She said into the phone. Harry walked into the kitchen, wringing out the towel.
"Is that Uncle Remus?" Karina put her finger to her lips.
"Did you hear? It was on the radio!"
"About Sirius being free? I heard." Remus told her grimly. "Rina, I know what you're thinking, and you can't think its true."
"Remus Elgard Lupin, you know its true, by all means!" She told him, shooing Harry out of the kitchen and motioning for him to go upstairs. "Sirius would never let James and Lily be killed! He wouldn't kill Peter!"
"We didn't see what happened that night, Rina!" Remus insisted. "I was out howling at the moon, you had Harry, he went to see Peter! The evidence was laid out in front of him and he was laughing in the flipping photograph!"
"Don't you dare say that was laughter, Remus Lupin." Karina growled. "We both know he was screaming. for Merlin's sake, Remus, it was you who taught me to read lips for a prank we pulled on James! Couldn't you see what he was saying?"
"It was laughter, Karina, and you bloody well know it!" Remus shouted. "I can't talk to you when you're like this. Call me back when you're in your right mind! Oh, and Dumbledore sent you a letter. I think you'll hate it after this conversation." Then he hung up, and Karina slammed the phone back on the hook, burying her face into her hands, sobbing.
"He didn't kill them. I know it!" She cried, sliding down the wall and sitting on the floor.
That was when she heard an owl's hoot, and looked to see Dumbledore's owl sitting in the open windowsill with a letter. She took the letter, thanked the owl, and opened the envelope. The letter read,
Dear, Karina.
As you know, Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban, and our school maybe in grave danger. Therefore, as one of the once Aurors out there, I hereby as that you come to Hogwarts as the Defense of the Dark Arts professor, as well as the fact that Mr. Gilderoy Lockhart is still recovering his memory.
Let it be know that you will also be working alongside your old friend, Remus Lupin, who has kindly already accepted the offer.
Please send your response as soon as possible.
Sincerely, Albus Dumbledore.
Go to Hogwarts as the Defense of the Dark Arts teacher? Just because Sirius was on the loose? And working with Remus aftef all that on the phone? Why in the name of Merlin would she want to do that. Then she realised.
Sirius would be looking for her and Harry. It wouldn't make sense to stay where she was, especially with Sirius on the loose and the whole Ministry in a frenzy. But, if she were at Hogwarts, the one place that she and Sirius knew better than anyplace on Earth, he could come and meet her and Harry there! She'd meet him in one of their old secret tunnels, the one under the old witch that led to Honeyduke's. She'd fall into his arms, and he'd hold her close assuring her that he was truly there, and they'd lean in and...
"Ahem." She was pulled out of her daydream at the sound of Harry clearing his throat. "Aunt Karina, there's a man called Kingsley Shacklebolt standing at the front door. Claims that he comes from the Ministry and is an old friend of your's. Should I let him in?" Kingsley?
Karina hurried to the living room, where indeed, Kingsley Shacklebolt stood. He nodded his greeting to her.
"Karina. I assume you received Dumbledore's message?" He asked in his booming voice. She nodded, a little worried.
"Yes I did, and I'm taking the position, but... Why are you here?"
"The Minister and I thought it wise to bring you to the inn at the Leaky Cauldron, where you and Harry shall remain for the rest of the holiday. We thought it best for you to be surrounded by other wizards, rather than way out here in the middle of nowhere." Karina groaned.
"Oh, I get it! This is because Sirius escaped from Azkaban, isn't it? Because Harry is the bloody Chosen One, and I'm Sirius's fiancé, I suddenly can't handle taking care of us! Even though I was able to run bloody circles around Sirius at one point, I couldn't handle it if he jumped through the window at us! Which he wouldn't!" Kingsley put his hands on Karina's shoulders.
"Karina, please. It'd comfort me to know that you and Harry were safe." Karina groaned again, but nodded.
"Fine! Whatever it takes to get you off of my back! Harry, pack a bag, love! I have something I have to take care of, first." Then she hurried into the kitchen, where she found a pen and her notepad, wrote a note, and left it on the windowsill, before hurrying off to pack her own bag.
Sirius,
Harry and I are at Hogwarts. Meet me in the tunnel underneath of Honeyduke's. I'll meet you there.
Love, Karina.
