"What happened to me? How did I end up in the other world?" Yu asked Anaphora, who took a deep breath. The two of them sat on the steps outside of the palace, as Fidelius refused to let her even to have a private moment inside of the castle with him.
"It was so many years ago." She wiped her eyes, trying to hold back her tears. "It had been while your grandmother, the Songstress Juliet and the Fidelius's father King Wesley were still alive, and the kingdom of Evermore had been passed down to Fidelius, and I had just received the powers of the Songstress..."
"Mother? Why did you come so far?" Anaphora ran to the door, where her elderly mother fell through, clutching her heart. Tervis, her husband, held the baby behind her.
"It's Fidelius!" She cried out, grabbing onto her arms. "He's taking this too far! He and Wesley have sent the army! They're coming after you!"
"What?" Ana looked up to her husband, who held their child close.
"They're coming for your son, Ana! They want him dead, so that the Songtress line will end!" Ana looked back to Tervis in terror.
"We have to run!" She told him, and he rushed over, handing the baby to her.
"I'll pack a bag!" That was when they heard the sounds of horses outside, and Ana's heart dropped.
"There's no time!" She told him. "We have to go, out the back window!"
"Go!" Juliet told her, getting to her feet and standing before the door, pulling out a wand. "I'll hold them off!"
"Mother, you can't!" Ana ran to her, grabbing her hand.
"Ana, you must protect Yusuke! Go!" Anaphora felt tears prick her eyes as Tervis took her hand, hearing the guards outside, trying to bring down the door!
"Ana, come on!" She began crying as she and Tervis ran out the back door and hurried away from the house, hearing as the guards brought their door down and Juliet beginning to fight.
"We ran so far, until we collapsed from pain." Yu listened with anguish, doing his best to remember such events, but of course failed due to how young he had been. "We had no where to go. The safest place for you would have been Evermore, but we didn't trust Wesley or Fidelius. The pact of the Songstress and the King of Evermore was magically binding, but I knew Wesley. He would have killed all of us and not given it a second thought."
"What is the pact?" Yu asked, and she balled her fists.
"When King Evan founded Evermore, he was working alongside the Songster, Gascon. They wanted the kingdom to thrive as it had done when they worked together, and made a pact, that no matter what dispute fell in the kingdom, no matter what personal affairs flooded the kingdom, the Songstress will always be welcome, and work alongside in the kingdom of Evermore. But the pact was made under an Unbreakable Vow, meaning if those who disobey, are set to die." Yu's eyes went wide.
"Wait! So that meant that King Wesley would have given his life... just to get rid of me?" She nodded.
"Wesley was a terrible man. He gave his own son as a slave to another kingdom, just to stop a war, and you saw how well that turned out. He raised his son just to be as hateful as he was. He drove his wife into sickness, and later to death. He was a terrible man, and though Fidelius isn't as awful, he isn't much different either."
"But how did I end up in the other world?" She took another deep breath, thinking hard.
"There was this odd man, if you could call him that. We had been hiding for so long, and soon came across a large door deep in the forest. We thought it'd be a good place to hide, if no one lived there already, but this man stopped us. He looked more like a rabbit than anything, and wore a strange hat and held a cane.
"We told him that we were trying to find you a safe place, and he told us that until the heat died down, he'd be willing to send you to a good place, where you'd be raised well, and no one would hurt you. The only consequence would be we would not be able to go, or else you wouldn't be seen well in that world. We hadn't had a clue what he meant by that, but we knew that until we were able to let the heat die down, you would have to go somewhere else, and accepted." She clenched her fists, tears running down her cheeks. "Too late we realised he had taken you through this door, the Door of Worlds, the one thing that can connect every world in one place. He sent you to the other world, and after that day, the door was locked down tight. We had no way of getting in, and we never saw that strange man again." Yu felt a pang in his chest. his entire childhood in this world was taken away, all because of one selfish man, the king of a land he was supposed to be safe in.
