"Yer mum?" Hagrid asked Harry, before looking to Karina, who looked uncomfortable. "Good god, Karina, what have you been telling him?"
"He kept doing it. I couldn't bear to tell him." Harry looked to Karina, clearly upset.
"Mum? What did I keep doing?" She nodded.
"That. Just that. You kept calling me Mum." Harry raised his eyebrows.
"What? Are you saying you're not my mother?" He meant it as sarcasm, but Karina nodded. He stumbled back.
"Please, Harry, listen to me." She said quickly, coming closer to him. "I'm also not just some crazy lady who picked you up off the streets! Your father was my brother, and your mother was one of my best friends." Harry went closer to the woman he had once called Mum.
"Then where are my parents?" She looked st her feet, and Harry saw a tear fall.
"Dead. They died when you were only a year old. I took you in, and one day you called me Mum. I had trouble telling you that I wasn't Mum, but you didn't understand. So, I let you believe that I was your mother. I mean, it kind of worked. You look just like me and your father, except for your eyes." Karina went closer and caressed Harry's cheek. "Except for the eyes. Those are Lily's beautiful, green eyes. Your mother's." Harry felt confused. This woman, his aunt, had lied to him for years, yet he understood why she did it. She didn't want him to feel pain in his heart. She wanted him to be happy, and to feel loved, rather than feel like a burden on her.
"So... All those things you said... About one day my father would return... That was a lie?" He asked her. She nodded.
"Sort of. Your godfather, should he dare ever come back, it would be some day in the future. And let me tell you something, Harry." Karina looked over at Hagrid, before leaning in close to Harry to whisper to him. "Don't believe anything that anyone says about Sirius Black. He was your godfather, and he loved you like you were his own. We were going to get married, but he was taken to Azkaban, because he was accused of murdering thousands, including one of our best friends, Peter Pettigrew. As far as I know, Peter is dead, but I don't think it was Sirius. It couldn't have been."
"If yer done filling the boy's head with false hope, Karina, why don't we take him down to Diagon Alley?" Hagrid said gruffly. Karina gave him a dirty look, but sighed.
"Fine. Come on, Harry."(So, this was just an idea I was playing with and I'm not too sure on it. What do you guys think? Let me know below!)
