Previously, in Daddy Brought Home the Stepdaughter...
"Massey?" Massey looked up from her computer, and saw Megan standing at the door. "Can I ask you something?" Massey nodded, closing her laptop slightly and setting it on the couch.
"Yeah, sure, Meggy!" Megan came into the room and sat on Massey's lap. "What's up, sweetie?" She asked, not knowing that both Brad and Dusty stood outside the door, eavesdropping.
"Well, at my school there's a Daddy-Daughter dance." Megan started. "And I invited both Daddy and Brad. I don't want one of them to feel left out when I dance with the other one. Could you come with us?" Both dads exchanged looks.
"What do you mean by that?" Massey asked.
"I mean, if I'm dancing with Daddy, will you dance with Brad?" Megan explained, Brad's eyebrows furrowing and Dusty pumping his fist. "And then we switch so I can dance with Brad!" Brad let out a sigh of relief, though Dusty seemed concerned. Massey wasn't super happy with him right now. She wasn't very happy with either of her fathers at the moment. Would she really want to dance with either of them?
"We'll see, okay Megan?" Massey told her gently. "I'm kind of fighting with Daddy and Brad right now."
Now in the Present...
Sara led the three kids into the Daddy-Daughter Dance, unshocked but disappointed to see neither Dusty, nor Brad there for the girls.
"Daddy's not coming, is he?" Megan asked sadly. She had gotten all dressed up just for this dance, with an adorable little pink dress, white flats, and a little tiara.
"Oh, honey, he'll be here. He promised." Sara told her, dressed in a nice, consensual white dress with black, lacy flowers going down the side. She had to bring the kids to the dance, since she had no idea where Dusty was and she wouldn't let Massey drive her motorcycle over with Megan. "See cupcakes over there. I think you should go eat some. Go on. Go eat a lot of sugar." Massey stayed by her side as the little kids ran to the snack table, furious in her little black dress. The skirt flowed when she turned around, revealing the sparkly, opaque skirt underneath and a skin tight one beneath that to keep her everything covered.
"I'll be back." She said, heading for the door, Sara watching her in confusion as she pulled out her phone from her bra.
"Where are you going?" She demanded.
"To get my dads here, tie them to the back of my motorcycle, and drag their stupid asses back here!" She told her, and Sara crosse her arms.
"What do you mean? You don't even know where they are! You don't even have your motorcycle!" Massey pulled her keys out.
"I left it here earlier when Dad abandoned them and you told me to pick them up. And Brad stuck a tracker in my phone when I was sleeping so he could keep track of me." She explained. "I manage to make it so I know where he is too. And wherever Dad is, that's where Brad's going to be." Sara's eyebrows rose. "Griff sent me a text saying he went to see Brad after Dad left. Chances are, Brad went after Dad." Then she left, watching the phone tracker.
DAD
Brad was indeed where Dusty was. And that was the airport, sitting in a bar, waiting for his plane to take off and leave his kids behind.
